SEGA has confirmed that the developer Secret Level is continuing work on the upcoming PS3 and Xbox 360 version of Golden Axe and that the game would be ready for release by late 2008.

The concern was that rumors were circulating that the PS3 version of the next-gen Golden Axe was dropped and the SEGA was going to make it an exclusive game to the Xbox 360.

This is not the case though as SEGA has come out and stated that Golden Axe is still in development on both the PS3 and Xbox 360. ...

EGM's Quartermann whispers that Sega is quietly working on a new Skies of Arcadia game. The sky pirate RPG first appeared on the Dreamcast, then was revamped for a GameCube release. Not very many people got to play either version, more's the pity--those ship-to-ship battles in the sky were awesome.

We've heard a lot of rumors lately, but this might be the one I most desperately want to come true. ...

EA's head of international publishing made some interesting comments on what he'd like to see in the future of gaming. 'We want an open, standard platform which is much easier than having five which are not compatible.' While the rest of his comments imply that he simply meant 'one' platform instead of removing development licenses, it is an interesting concept. This is obviously a move designed to cut their development time and costs. But could this have other implications - like easier homebrew development for consoles?
