    News/release from Joyrider:

Jump n bumpin Was orignally a multiplayer game, over time AI got added and a few ports have been made. This port is based on the port from Florian Schulze. I made this game into a single player game for the gp2x by doing some small modifactions and adding gp2x input handling. You play with one of the bunny's and the aim of the game is to "bump" the other bunnies, you do this by jumping on their head. You need to get 50 bumps as fast as possible, before the cpu players do. You can play customn levels and even make your own.

    News/release from Hellcat:

    P a n d o r a I n s t a l l e r f o r 3 . x x K e r n e l s
    ========================= ===================

    UPDATE:
Revision 2: Now you can now also perform the actions on the memorystick, you so far needed to use "mspformat" and "msint" on the PC for!
That is repartitioning and formatting the memstick to reserve some space for the MS IPL and then install the IPL (MSIPL.BIN) into that reserved area.
The "Pandora Installer for 3.xx" holds options to perfom those tasks with a simple button press!
No more hazzeling around with the command prompt tools

....and yes, can use this to install ANY msipl.bin, not only the original one (Boosters multiboot, for example)

    Preface?
    ----------
NEVER, NEVER EVER, NEEEEVER USE THIS TO CONVERT A SLIM BATTERY TO PANDORA!
YOU WILL KILL YOUR BATTERY! ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY!

ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY! ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY!
ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY! ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY!
ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY! ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY!

It runns on the Slim, YES, but: ONLY USE WITH FAT'S BATTERY!

    OK?

    Now What?
    -----------
The original Pandora-Tools are dependant on 1.50, if you are on 3.71-M33
or the Slim you're out of luck - the don't run.

    But fear no more ;-)

This is an installer app for a base Pandora setup.
It runns under *ANY* currently known kernel (that is 1.50 to 3.71) and
    gives you three options:

    1) Make normal battery to Pandora one
    2) Make Pandora battery to normal one
    3) Install a full 1.50 to the memstick, including the Pandora

And yes, it does run on 3.71 - I tested it myself ;-)

    How?
    ------
To use the installer, first you need the 1.50 updater EBOOT named
as "UPDATE.PBP" in the root folder of your memorystick.
As a regular Pandora user you'll have that already, if not: copy it!

Now copy the "pan3xx" folder from this archive to
/PSP/GAME/ on your memorystick - and run it!

    Done

    Cool?
    -------
    Yes!
Since this installer installs a full 1.50, and not only a subset like
the original installer, you're only one tiny file edit away from
booting a full 1.50 from your memstick to run additional tools or
installers from there before/instead of directly flashing your PSP.

At this point, let me suggest to install the "Extended Pandora Menu" ;-D

Previous DCEmu coverage on the skinning contest

Due to only receiving one entry so far (though other people say they are close to finishing), F34R, who is running the iR Shell Skinning Contest has extended the deadline an extra week. The new deadline is October 17. He says that this will be the ONLY extension even if one entry is all that's entered.

COME ON GUYS, CRANK OUT THOSE SKINS BEFORE OCTOBER 17! SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR iR SHELL WHILE POSSIBLY WINNING PRIZES! WE WOULDN'T WANT TO JUST KEEP THE PRIZES!

As a reminder, here are the Prizes:
    • First Place
      • $20.00 (USD) via paypal or gift card.
      • Choice of GTA: Liberty City Stories for Sony PSP or Dark Stalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower for Sony PSP.
      • Invitation to join the iR Shell Beta Team.

    • Second Place
      • $10.00 (USD) via paypal or gift card.
      • Invitation to join the iR Shell Beta Team.
    • Third Place
      • Invitation to join the iR Shell Beta Team.

And here's a refresher on the Judging Criteria:
To help the skin developers make the most of their work, here are a few things that the judges will be looking for:
    • Accuracy - How well does the skin integrate with iR Shell ? Does the color.def file fit ? (this is a must !)
    • Creativity - How unique is the theme ?
    • Details - How has the developer designed the fine details of the skin ? What defines the USB section, and differentiates itself from the Wifi section ?
    • Style - How well do the colors, icons, details, menus, etc. blend together in the theme of the skin ?

Judging the skins will not be limited to the above list. These are just some of the things the skin developer should keep in mind when creating the skin.

    And a Rules reminder:
    • All "skinners" must be registered users of iR Shell.org.
    • All skins must be the artists own work.
      • renders, pics, etc. can be used, but must have been "compiled" by the submitter. i.e. I wouldn't enter a skin that matriculated had made.
    • All skins must be submitted to F34R via PM with a private upload link.
      • megaupload, rapidshare, etc.
    • Skins that have been previously released are not eligible.
    • Each participant may enter two skins into the contest. Only one prize may be won by each participant.
    • Previews are not to be posted. This will be handled by the judging committee.
    • All skins submitted must be compatible with the latest public build of iR Shell.
    • I reserve the right to remove anyone from this contest at my discretion.
    • I reserve the right to refuse any entry at my discretion.
    • You must be 18 years of age, or have permission to enter from either a parent or guardian. By entering into the contest you acknowledge that you meet one of these requirements.
    • I reserve the right to change these rules, prizes, or any other portion of this contest prior to the deadline. Notification of changes will be via this thread.
    • Shipping will be worldwide.
    • Initial Shipping and Handling will be free. Any extra shipping taxes, import fees, duties, or any other fees not calculated from the initial shipment, will be the responsibility of the winner to pay. Insurance is also optional, and will be the winners responsibility to pay for. See notes below. If the package is returned for whatever reason, the prize is forfeited.

For more info including the Shipping Disclaimer check the iRShell.org Skinning Contest Forum Thread

Despite previous reports that we could expect a Sony Ericsson gaming phone in February next year, Sony Ericsson's senior marketing manager, Richard Dorman, has dashed hopes by denying that this is the case.

Any similar hopes to see the Bravia-branded television focussed mobiles (currently available in Japan) were similarly dashed, although this is perhaps less surprising as the UK is behind Japan in terms of a mobile TV platform.

The PSP phone rumours began earlier this year when patents for PlayStation themed gaming-enabled mobile phone handsets were discovered.

In addition these rumours were recently confirmed by Sony Ericsson games boss Peter Ahnegard at the Leipzig gaming conference when he stated we would see a PSP phone "before Christmas".

However, if you believe the latest exec to go on record, this is not to be. Richard Dorman said not only were there no plans to bring the Bravia range to the UK, but a PSP-branded phone was not on the agenda either.

Mobile Today quotes Dorman as stating: "It is not a focus for us with the UK and western European market at the moment. I've seen our road map for the next 12 months and neither of those two handsets will feature in it". ...

    News/release from mypspdev

    Hi!
here is a proof of concept

    http://rapidshare.com/files/59105845/My_PSP.rar.html

I'd like to submit to all of you interested an eboot with some prx for checking all hardware features of both PSP Fat and S&L models.

    It's under 3.xx (3.52 and 3.71) and checks out:

    model and firmware installed
    system params
    power params
test of a call to an external 1.50 kernel prx
    usb storage
    UMD presence
hprm connections (on S&L only headset, I've not cables yet)
    sio port input
    sound output
    network params
    wifi lan scanning
run a server on port 23
GoCam video (Right Trigger to take a photo, START to close and continue tests)
GoCam microphone or Talkman microphone (Right Trigger to save an audio recording, START to contue testing)
GPS (I'm experiencing just a crash when exit TRIANGLE after using GPS on S&L, full ok on Fat)
IR Keyboard input (only for Fat, please before running disable keyplugin if active)
3D engine test (solid, surface, lines)

It's the proof that under 3.xx all features are under control.
Before it I had some pieces of codes under 1.50 and others under 3.xx.
Now all in one for all PSP models.
It's not an application to play with.

    To be done:
    - control brightness
    - run a client connection to server
    - ...

Please let take a test and do not hesitate to send to me errors, if any.

Source code is fully available, if requested and if interesting.

    I hope you are appreciating.

Those of you that have tried out Sony's version of the USB charge feature are probably a litle bit dissapointed that you are unable to charge the PSP whenever the PSP is plugged in. Well now you dont need to be as we have developed a plugin which allows the PSP to charge whenever the PSP Slim is connected using USB.
