    News from Play Asia

In these classic gaming news updates you will find a frequent summary of all classical titles which were added to our site. Availability is subject to frequent changes and fast decisions are recommended as we usually have only very few copies of those titles that are listed below. As always we are trying to expand our catalogue regularly.

In case a title is already listed as sold out, we recommend you to subscribe to our Personal Agent on the item's product page. We are monitoring your subscription and try to restock the title if possible. Once the game is back in stock, you will automatically receive an e-mail notification from us.

Further, if you are looking for any title that is not listed on our website yet, you are always welcome to contact our customer service with your request. We will try our best to track down the requested title and add them to our website with one of our next major updates.

If you are interested in Classic Games, and you wouldn't read this otherwise, we know you are interested in The Encyclopedia of Game.Machines. Covering 33 years of video games history on 224 full colour pages. Ships within 24hrs as well and makes a good addon to an order of any classic game.

Today's hottest video goes out for all you Halo 3 fans -- at least 5 million, by our counts. Microsoft employee Mr. Jukes, reportedly the most fanatical player in the company, has created a video of his playtime with the internal beta. Bungie has released the video for the world to see.

They also remind the fanbase that this beta is a bit older than what will soon be released for mass enjoyment testing. "This was fully sanctioned and approved by Bungie," the developer added, "unlike some of those other 'leaked' videos that have ended up online."

New Hero. New Enemies. Swing Action. That's Tecmo's motto for the newly announced Project Rygar, a Wii resurrection of the "Legendary Warrior" (not a port of the PS2 game). Revealed during Tecmo's 'Nite Out 07' event in Tokyo, Japan, the Wii-exclusive will apparently share little in common with its series' predecessors, with the exception of the trademark "Diskarmor" weapon. Tecmo shared little else about the game, teasing attendees with a few glimpses of concept art, but no gameplay images.

So how 'bout it Tecmo? You gonna warm us up with a Rygar Virtual Console release? If ya do, just make sure that virtual save feature's workin'... ...

The European version of SNK Vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS won't launch with the game-breaking bug that's been crippling American copies.

But when exactly we'll be ale to play the game is still to be determined, with Ignition Entertainment promising us a definitive date "shortly".

Americans ran into problems on the ninth level of the game, when it crashed after an encounter with an opponent called Jon. Unfortunately the card you collect for completing this part was required to complete the adventure, rendering most people's games broken beyond repair.

SNK has since offered to replace copies in the US, but it's going to take up to six weeks for the freshly ordered replacements to arrive from Nintendo.

But then the game is dreadful. So it shouldn't bother you lot anyway. ...

Nintendo UK's bossman David Yarnton has revealed to British trade paper MCV some juicy hardware sales figures. And we just know how much you love sales numbers, so here you go. The figures disclosed include total global sales, as well as those in continental Europe and the UK.

    Nintendo DS:

    Global: 40 million
    Europe: 11 million
    Britain: 3.1 million

    Nintendo Wii:

    Global: 5.84 million
    Europe: 1.3 million
    Britain: 438,000

    Says Yarnton:

We've sold close to 438,000 Wiis in the UK in five months. It's really hard to have targets - we have seen unprecedented demand.

Yes, we set targets originally and we have definitely exceeded those. They are continually being re-assessed all the time.

Slight warning: since these come from Nintendo themselves, and don't make the distinction between shipped and sold, take a grain of salt or three. But don't overdo it; after all, since every Wii shipped is being sold, that distinction's probably a touch irrelevant. ...
