    News/release from Califrag:

This prx file is a simple "wardriving" application that can be launched from the xmb.
When launched it continuously scans and rescans wireless hotspots and displays the results in the xmb.

    *UPDATED 4/26/2007*
BugFix: Now all access point names are displayed correctly: still working on signal strength and security.
Change: Instead of displaying security as X (Protected) or O (Unprotected), the access point is now RED if protected and WHITE if unprotected. (suggested by Loonix)

    Controls:
    L+R+SQUARE: Toggle auto-rescan
    L+R+CIRCLE: Toggle info level
    L+R+SELECT: Stop warPSP^xmb.

    Current Bugs & Issues:
There are known bugs with this prx:
Problem: When running, if you try to launch the internet browser, rss, or any other network function, mixed results will happen: psp locks up or prx scan stops responding or both.

Reason: This can't be fixed (currently) because it's not possible to detect when the user starts the internet browser, rss, or other network functions. Once this is figured out, I will make the prx automatically stop, allowing the network processes to be performed and then resume again.

Problem: If not disabled and user starts an application (eboot/game/umd) from the game menu: the psp usually freezes or the prx stops (usually the prx just stops and the psp continues)

Reason: Still working on getting the xmb to wait for the prx to stop and unload before exiting to the game. I have been able to detect it and stop the prx but the xmb just doesn't wait!

Problem: Only the first access point found is displayed correctly in the list.

Reason: I believe the structure for the scan data has changed from the original sdk sample and now requires a different method of retrieving/translating the information. I fixed the bug with the names not being displayed correctly, however the signal strength and protection info is still not right. This is highest priority and am focusing on getting this working first.

    Development/Plans/ToDo
Development continues on this prx to release a stable version with features including:

    Auto-Connect
The first unprotected access point with the highest signal strength will be automatically added to network configuration.

    Data Logging
Access point information will be logged to a text file. Date, time, access point information and grouping will be available.

    GPS Integration
Serial GPS and PSP-290 gps integration to allow access points to be pinpointed and refound (no more stumbling). The ability to log access point data to a POI file will be available as well allowing it to be loaded into common mapping programs such as MapThis!

I am working on making this compatible as a seplugin prx.
The idea is to make a prx that runs in the xmb allowing you to listen to music or view photos or videos while scanning in the background.

I plan to release two additional distributions:
one a standalone eboot similar to wifisniffer,
the other a game-mode prx allowing you to scan while running games or other applications.

Things I will not be working on:
    WEP cracker
It has not yet been discovered how to put the PSP into "promiscuous mode" allowing it to sniff network packets not specifically addressed to the PSP's mac address. Network packets are the basic necessity for possible WEP decryption and until this is achieved, WEP cracking from the PSP cannot be done.

    INSTALLATION
SO! In order to install this, you must flash this to your PSP. Use PSPFiler or OE Recovery or whatever other preferred method of flashing files.

It is attached as lftv_plugin.prx but can be renamed and launched from
    Network Update (update_plugin.prx)
    Certificate Utility (license_plugin.prx)
    Remote Play (premo_plugin.prx)

The location of the prx files are:
    flash0:\vsh\nodule (on OE firmwares)
    flash0:\vsh\module (on SONY firmwares)

I have only tested this to work with 3.03 OE-C but have seen a video of it working on 3.40 OE-A.

All standard disclaimers apply when flashing/modifying your PSP. I take no responsibility for any misuse of the attached file.

Thanks to everyone in advance who tests this and posts feedback!

News and screenshots come in tonight from Ruliweb that indicate Soul Calibur 3 is making its way to the PSP.

According to the post, and its respective machine translation, Soul Calibur 3 will remain largely unchanged from its PS2 version that was released back in 2005.

The reason this article's title has a "?" mark at the end is because I've been unable to verify the information. The screenshots over at Ruliweb are clearly tagged with the watermark of Famitsu.com, yet at the time of this writing, there appears to be no corresponding article on Famitsu.com.

    PSP Wardrobe

    **************
    ***OVERVIEW***
    **************

THIS IS FOR PSP 3.03 OE-C CUSTOM FIRMWARE.

PSP wardrobe is a theme flasher. I know there have been more than a few of these things released lately.
But I love customizing so much, that I even decided to make my own custom customiser lol

In all seriousness though, I have decided to take up lua coding as a hobby, and this is a good first project.
Menu's and gui and all that are not that hard to write in Lua. And I have been modding the PSP XMB for the past year
or so. So i have a good understanding of the flash contents.

It's ambitious, but I plan to eventually evolve this into the best theme flasher there is. I have tested this and
seemed to have worked out any bugs. If you find any feel free to report them to me. [email protected]

As with any app that read/writes to the PSPs Flash, there is always a minor chance of damage to your PSP.
You accept all responsibility for installation & results of installation & use.

I never released v.1, because it was too bare bones to warrent a release.
    v.2 is more respectable.

    ****************
    ***TO INSTALL***
    ****************

THIS will ONLY work on PSP 3.03 OE-C CUSTOM FIRMWARE.
    Place in the "Game150" folder.
Runs directly from XMB. Does not require Lua Player to run.

DO NOT erase the files in the theme, xmb mod ect folders. Just overwrite your files over the top of
the files inside, or this program will NOT work !!

There is not enough room in the flash for themes. It is up to you to clear out space in your flash.
there are several apps (Flash agent is one) that allow dummying of unneeded font files, ect.

This app comes with no themes pre-installed. It is up to you to install your own themes.

To make your own preview pics for the menu, just take a screen shot of the desired xmb, and
resize it to 240 x 136. Save it in .png format, and name it theme1.png
(or what ever theme it is 1-10 your installing) and place it into the "Wardrobe" folder.

    ****************
    ***Change Log***
    ****************

    *v.1 (4/17/2007) -

    - checks PSP Battery, program will not run if battery life is less than 33%

    - Lets you Flash 4 different Themes.

    - customizable pic preview for each theme

Converting web games to the handheld systems seem like an extremely popular (and profitable) thing to do. Games like Elf Bowling and Cake Mania have already hit the Nintendo DS system, and other casual web browser blockbusters, like Line Rider, are on their way. Diner Dash, one of the internet's "biggie" games, is on its way to the Nintendo DS as well as the PlayStation Portable, and we got a chance to tinker around with the versions made for on-the-go gaming.

Diner Dash is a fast-paced game that's along the lines of the Cake Mania design, which is, admittedly, a design derived from classic games from yesteryear like Rootbeer Tapper and Pressure Cooker. The idea in Diner Dash is to keep customers who wander into your restaurant happy by getting them in and out as quickly and as satisfied as possible. Customers waiting in line must be seated, served, and billed, as quickly as your hands can move...otherwise they'll get upset and leave without paying.

Ever since Nintendo launched the incredibly successful Nintendogs franchise on the Nintendo DS platform, other publishers have been trying to grab the younger crowd with their own take on the interactive virtual pet genre. We've had games featuring cats, dogs, hamsters...and now Eidos is ready to trot to stores this summer with its own Virtual Pet game, Pony Friends.

Clearly taking a few pages out of the Nintendogs design document, the developers working on Pony Friends are doing with horses as Nintendo did with puppies. In Pony Friends, players buy a pony and care for it: feeding, accessorizing, grooming, and training are all part of the experience in this DS game, all leading up to the competitions where you'll "cheer" on your horse (through the use of the Nintendo DS microphone) all the way to the finish line. There's also a mode where you can take a stroll through nature trails, taking photos of wildlife in a challenge that's not unlike Pokemon Snap on the Nintendo DS.

The Nintendo DS system is not only excelling at moving handheld gaming forward in the industry, it's also doing a fine job approaching the market as a way to get people who might not play videogames a chance to find out why Little Timmy's completely addicted to his portable systems. Nintendo approached the whole "non-gaming" demographic early on and hit a home run, and now other publishers have been pouncing on the touch-screen focused system to bring more non-gamer friendly designs to market.

And no game has been "non-gamer friendly" as Midway's casual Touchmaster series. You've seen them sitting at the end of bars in clubs and pubs all over the country, and chances are, if you're over 21 of course, you've drunkenly dumped a handful of quarters to play a few of the games in its library. Midway's taken many of the successful items from its Touchmaster machines and converted them for play on the Nintendo DS. And considering each game's "touch sensitive" design, it's not a surprise that these games are hitting the Nintendo handheld.

Midway will release Touchmaster on the portable this June, but the company let us tinker around with what appears to be a near-final build of the game. For better or worse, each of the near two dozen games look, sound, and play extremely close to the version programmed on the larger bar-top version, just scaled down for play with the Nintendo DS stylus instead of the finger. In this collection, you get simple, easy to understand games like Wordsearch, Trivia, stand-alone classics like Solitaire and Shanghai-style Mahjongg, renamed classics like Pond Kings (Checkers) and Five Star Generals (Yahtzee)...even a rendition of Wheel of Fortune in the form of a game called "Wordz." Then you've got puzzle games like Crystal Balls and Mahki where you'll have to tap spheres or tiles in strategic places to remove them from play.
