Estimated to account for up to 80 per cent of country's tablet market.
Apple's latest milestone will be a kick in the face of bitter rival Samsung, which is struggling to shift tablets in its native South Korea.
Apple's one million devices sold are a combination of iPad and iPad 2, which hold as much as 80 per cent of the country's market, according to the Korea Herald.
The iPads were launched in Korea in November 2010 and April 2011 respectively, meaning the seven-figure milestone has been reached in little over a year. Good news for Apple, as the country is still yet to truly embrace the tablet market.
The report also says the figure only accounts for iPads sold in Korea, meaning that the number of actual active devices in operation could be greater, with eager consumers buying from overseas.
Additionally, wi-fi versions of the iPad account for two-thirds of all sales.

Gaming platform is expandable says firm's senior VP.
Thus far, Sony's latest handheld gaming device, the PlayStation Vita, is only available in Japan, with an international release taking place on February 22nd.
Despite its lack of presence, rumours are already circulating about the compatibility of the Vita OS on mobile devices.
According to AV Watch, at a Q&A session, Sony's senior VP Yoshio Matsumoto, said : "If you're asking if we've made it [the Vita OS] in a way that's expandable, so that it's possible to apply to smartphones and tablets on top of achieving the high responsiveness we need for gaming devices — it is possible."
Sony, of course, is an old hand at mobile gaming, as demonstrated with its Xperia Play device, which offers over 200 games.
Sony broke off its ten-year partnership from Ericsson last year, in a bid to compete in the smartphone space and a Vita-based gaming OS could certainly have the potential to make that happen against the likes of leaders iOS and Android.

If you're rocking in your seat in excitement for Vita's launch, you might want to be prepared with some game to play on it.
NeoGAF posters have discovered that at least five Vita games are already available for download via the US PSN - including Uncharted and WipEout. While not visible via the normal menus, slapping in a search for them will reveal the goods, and you can purchase and download them now, ready for the arrival of your shiny console later this month.
Better still, if you already have a Japanese Vita and are waiting for English-language games, you can download the Vita titles to your PS3 and transfer them via USB cable to your console. The US downloads are thankfully fully playable on Japanese units.
Here are the game found and their prices (which includes a currently available 10 percent discount):
    Uncharted (3.2 GB) $45 ($50 MSRP)
    Hot Shots (1.15 GB) $36 ($40 MSRP)
    WipEout 2048 (1.6GB) $36 ($40 MSRP)
Super Stardust Delta (208 MB) $10 - PSN title
Modnation Racers Road trip (1.5 GB) $27 ($30 MSRP)

Sony has released a list of the PSP title currently available via the US PSN. Why? Because you can only play digital PSP games on your UMD-less Vita.
The PS Blog says there are 275 PSP games available to download on your Vita, although only 155 of those are full retail titles - the rest are Minis.
We also only count 117 Minis, which makes a total of 272 in actual math, but we're just nitpicking. The full list is below, and Sony promises that "more PSP titles will be made available for PS Vita play in the coming weeks".
PSP games can either be downloaded directly to your Vita via PSN, or downloaded to your PS3 and transferred over via USB cable.
Unfortunately, US-based gamers (and it seems likely that EU also) will not have access to the nifty UMD passport program that allows Japanese Vita owners to download digital versions of UMD games that they own for a small fee.PSP Titles

The next Xbox may have a controller with a touch-screen area on.It's a Wii U controller? No; Xbox World Magazine (via NeoGAF) heard from "sources" that Microsoft is experimenting with something a bit more sleek - think Vita or iPad. Microsoft's after an HD screen surrounded by the usual 360-pad buttons and sticks.Don't stop there Microsoft - dream!

The screen will apparently adapt to content: when watching TV it will be a remove; when on the internet it will be a browser; and when playing games it will offer extra buttons and a portable display "when you want to take your game with you".Maybe it could also be a Tamagotchi. But will this touch-screen-featured controller be an optional luxury? Won't it be expensive? And wait, what - why?! These are all questions still unanswered. Plus, it may turn out to be a lie. Also on Next-Gen Watch: Epic Games vice president Mark Rein last night said Unreal Engine 4 was running on "systems we can't name yet" (Loud Mouthed Gamers viaNeoGAF).Microsoft's next Xbox, which is expected to be unveiled this summer at E3, is no doubt one of those systems. With a prospective system launch in late 2013, game development will need to already be well under way.But is PS4 one of those systems? Outside of first-party studios, there is arguably none better placed than Epic Games to have access to secret dev kits, thanks to its ubiquitous Unreal Engine business. However, "systems we can't name yet" may also refer to iPad 3 and 4, both heavily rumoured, as well as iPhone 5. Epic, after all, has enjoyed perhaps the greatest core gaming success on iOS with Infinity Blade 1 and 2.

Update: The Raspberry Pi Foundation has asked us to clarify the availability of the device. The developer version (essentially a Linux PC) should be going out to customers this month and details will be posted on the Foundation's website. The separate consumer version (which includes kid-friendly software and is intended for educational use) will be cased and be, essentially, a piece of consumer electronics. The Raspberry Pi Foundation hopes to release this latter device in Q3 this year. Both versions will be available for sale to anyone.Original story: Elite co-creator David Braben hopes the consumer version of the intriguing Raspberry Pi device - the $25 credit-card sized computer - will be made available to the public in the third quarter of this year.A pre-order system for the uncased, developer version of the Raspberry Pi will be unveiled in the near future, Braben told Eurogamer."We've not got a pre-order [system] for the commercial one yet because we need to determine the price, determine roughly when it's going to be," he said."We have a good idea that it will be sort of in Q3 this year, but we can't be certain. There are a lot of variables in terms of what we need to get ready. We don't know completely but we're moving very quickly."The Raspberry Pi Foundation hopes to offer children (of all ages), the opportunity to learn hands-on computing skills by creating software on the low cost, credit-card sized device. It's a venture that's well-timed given the UK government's recent commitment to teaching core practical IT skills in classrooms - rather than the use of word processors, and the essential Excel skills needed to perfect one's Eve Online trading spreadsheet.A full feature detailing our visit to Frontier Developments to look at the device will be published next week. In the meantime, we'll have a short reader Q&A appearing on our Facebook page later on today.
