Codemasters has unleashed demos of the upcoming Xbox 360 and PC versions of the stat-crunching LMA Manager series.

The two demos vary, with the PC one allowing you six months managing any club from the top divisions of England, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal and Holland.

Oddly the the 360 version only allows you to take the helm in an exhibition match at Wembley between Liverpool and Inter Milan. You'd think Codies would offer a bigger portion considering the very real threat of Football Manager on the console?

Looks like PS2 gamers will have to wait until September 22 to get their fix, when all three versions go on sale. ...

A trio of new gameplay modes arrive for Rare's 360 adventure game

If you're still playing Rare's shape-shifting adventure game, Kameo: Elements Of Power (and why wouldn't you be?) then you'll probably be pleased to hear that three new gameplay modes have arrived on Xbox Live, in the form of the Kameo Power Pack.

Weighing in at a respectable 46MB, and costing 400 (£3.40) of your Microsoft points, the Power Pack consists of a new Expert mode, Time Attack mode (also playable in co-op) and Rune Battle mode, which pits you against your co-op buddy in a mad scramble for erm, Runes.

That's not all though. The pack also includes 15 new achievements for you to work for, worldwide leaderboards and an armour costume pack. 400 points clearly goes a long way. ...

Ubisoft's Sin City tactical-shooter, Rainbow Six: Vegas has spawned another glitzy gameplay trailer - and surprise, surprise; it's looking gorgeous.

If you haven't been paying attention, we're unhappy to report that Ubi's 'Vegas isn't the tale of the Rainbow Six Team's terrorist-busting stag do, but their mission to take down international terrorist Irena Morales, who fancies his chances at blowing up Las Vegas. As Rainbow leader Logan Keller, you and your team have a real-time-ish limit of one night to stop him.

Rainbow Six: Vegas is gunning for release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 at the end of the year.

There has been some confusion about the use of copyright material in entries for the contest, so the rules have been up dated to make this clear

No use of copyrighted images, sounds, or code without explicit permission from the author (this can include the author having released the materials under a license which allows you to reuse it in the manner in which you are).

No ports allowed without explicit permission of the author (also includes license. Please check the license carefully as some otherwise 'open source' licenses specifically bar the use for profit) GPL ports are allowed without the author premission.

If at any time an entry is found to be in violation of any of these rules, it may be disqualified from the competition.

In other news I would like to thanks 1timeuser for donating $5 and to all of you that have been clicking on the ads on the contest page, your clicks have earned $8.48 so far.

That all brings the total prize money to $41.56, and the total value of all the prizes to $571.45 (£300+)(€450+) ...

Activision has inked a deal with InfoSpace allowing the mobile firm to develop titles based on its Tony Hawk and Gun franchises.

Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam, Tony Hawk's Project 8, Gun and a selection of retro titles are all set to appear on mobile handsets soon.

"There's no denying the market penetration of cell phones, which makes mobile games a great way to extend our console brands," said David Anderson, senior director of business development for Activision.

"InfoSpace is a leading mobile content, distribution and delivery company, and we look forward to building a successful relationship that puts some of our top titles in the hands of mobile gamers," he said.

The move comes just days after EA announced a similar deal with Nokia, and VU games acquired mobile developer Centerscore.

"As mobile technology continues to evolve and with the increasing availability of 3G handsets, mobile gaming now enables more powerful and dynamic gameplay experiences," added Stephen Davis, president of mobile and online media for InfoSpace.

"We're excited to work with Activision to develop the coveted Tony Hawk brand for mobile as well as their most popular sport and adventure titles, offering fans the chance to test their skills and enjoy their favourite games while on the go," said Davis. ...

Nottingham's GameCity festival is to be opened by former National Film and Television School chairman Lord Puttnam.

Puttnam became the first European-born boss of Hollywood's Columbia Studios and later went on to found SkillSet, which trains young people to become members of the film and television industries.

"Videogames are at the cutting edge of the future of the creative industries in the UK and it's an index of the success of their journey into mainstream culture that something like GameCity is able to happen at all," commented Puttnam.

"Videogame culture is important and the ability of videogames to celebrate and translate themselves to new audiences through inclusive and innovative events like GameCity is massively encouraging in a sector so often under attack from the mainstream," he added.

Puttnam will open the festival on October 25th at Nottingham Council House, before the European premier of the Into the Pixel exhibition. GameCity runs from October 25th to the 29th.

Have you forgotten about the CPS1 emulator with all of the excitement over the CPS2 emulator? Well, NJ certainly hasn't and he's been hard at work on his CPS1PSP emulator.
    Planned
-Change the drawing processes to ones similar to CPS2 to improve the speed by as much as possible.
    -Change the Z80 core.
-Add state save/load: The state save feature is mainly to make the debugging process easier (I added it because I don't want to keep on playing until the same spot where a bug occurs over and over again), and I have given absolutely no consideration for compatibility with other emulators.
-Anything else that I may happen to think of.

Nothings been going the way I had planned. First of all, it's unstable. There's been lots of occasions where I haven't even been able to compile it. By adding the -G0 compile option it won't even run. Without it, there are games that won't run when using the same C68K as CPS2. It also looks like I won't be able to use CZ80. To make it compatible with kabuki encryption, I'd have to make quite a few changes to the source, but by making it compatible, I've got the feeling that it'll be even slower than MAME's Z80.
This is about what the state of things is right now.

It certainly is rough emulating YM2151 with the PSP's processing capabilities.
I'm planning on ending development of this with the next release.
Additionally, he has finally released the source code for the cache converters for the NEO GEO and CPS2 emulators, and it should now be much easier to port this tool to other platforms. For those interested:
    About the Source
-I had absolutely no plans to release this, so there isn't even a single comment.
-Because the it would be tedious to write the explanation, I haven't even written instructions on how to compile it.
-The source code is so disorganized that I have declined to supply it when I have received requests for the source in order to port it. Frankly, (especially with CPS2) I don't think you'll be able to tell what's going on when looking at it.
-Visual C++ 6.0 is necessary in order to compile it. If you fix the makefile you can compile it in versions later than 6.0. It would be necessary to rewrite the code under GCC.
-zip32j.dll is used for the ZIP compression.
-I won't reply to any questions related to the program, so please understand.
The readme contains much of the same information, but with apologies for only using GCC for PSP applications, a note that he uses GNU MAKE, an appeal to do something about the zip32j.dll dependancy should it be ported, and finally, a comment that the source for the emulators proper needs to be cleaned up, but is forthcoming. ...
