Metaview has updated his Amiga emulator for the Tapwave Zodiac and pocket pcs, the emulator also has a name change to avoid the confusion with 2 emulators with nearly the same name :P

Heres whats new:

I'm kind of happy with this release, it runs on my T3 as well as on my Zodiac. I think, I've fixed another issue in yoyo's starter, it may run on a Treo650 now, but who knows. You can now configure the keys, the joystick emulation is almost working (north vs. south is playable, but still a bit jerky). I made some new icons, but they look horrible. If someone has something better, please email me (But I fear the Amiga Logo is copyrighted). I wasn't able yet to boot up a workbench, but maybe my adf's are crap. Use "Portrait" for Tungsten T3, the screen rotation necessary for landscape mode on T3 isn't supported yet (but will come, definately). As in ZDoomZ etc. Whenever you see a white button in the middle of the screen, tap with the stylus on the screen, it's for debugging.

Hello Folks

Not sure if this thread is going to make me a naughty boy or not, but here goes.
I have bought 2 PS2`s in the last 16 months. I had them bothed chipped for the lad. The first one packed up after 13 months, would not read disks. I changed the laser myself, but that didnt work. Realised after that the chip that makes the disk spin was U/S (Something like that)
Anyway, bought the 2nd this Christmas, had it chipped and today its packed in again....same thing, wont read disks.

My question to everyone is this. Is this a problem caused by having it chipped?
My missus has gone ballistic and is blaming me for this, but I am not sure the chip has anything to do with it because after looking on e-bay, I find hundreds of (For spare parts) PS2`s all unable to read disks.

Anyone with any info on this?

Former Capcom exec Yoshiki Okamoto, whose new studio Game Republic signed up to develop titles for Xbox 2 last month, has hinted that the company is lining up a number of other major Japanese developers to support the platform.

Speaking in an interview with the official Japanese Xbox website, Okamoto said that "I've been hearing that some other designers will also be joining [game development for Xbox 2]. There are a lot of surprises. I find myself saying: 'What, this development studio!? This game!? These people!?'"

Okamoto was named as one of three big-name Japanese designers who would be lending his talents to the Xbox 2 in a flurry of announcements last month, joining Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and Space Channel 5 and Rez creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi, whose Mist Walker and Q Entertainment studios are also signed up.

That's only the tip of the iceberg, though, if Okamoto is to be believed. "If the current line-up [of titles] in development for the next-generation Xbox was revealed, it would not only surprise users, but the entire industry," he said. "There probably wouldn't be anyone [in Japan] that would still be uninterested in buying the next-generation Xbox when they see the line-up."

Okamoto didn't give any specifics of what titles Game Republic is working on for the next-gen console, but he did confirm that due to the company's deal with Microsoft Game Studios, the titles would be fully exclusive to Xbox 2 - with no chance of them being ported to other consoles, which he described as "a disappointment". ...

Datel has announced the launch of Action Replay MAX DUO, a new product which allows users to access cheats and store game saves for both the Nintendo DS and the Game Boy Advance.

MAX DUO combines both Action Replay for GBA and MAX Drive DS to create an "all-in-one game enhancer".

MAX Drive DS has an on-board memory for storing game saves, plus an included PC application which allows users to back them up to a hard drive. It also enables DS owners to save multiple times even when a game features only one or two save slots.

In addition, users can use the MAX Drive PC application to upload and download game saves via www.codejunkies.com. Datel will also offer 'Power Saves' which users can download for infinite lives, unlocked levels and so on.

Action Replay for GBA comes pre-loaded with 20,000 cheats for more than 200 games, and the cartridge can be updated with new codes in the future.

"Action Replay has built a solid reputation for providing powerful, game-busting cheats at a bargain price," said Datel MD Michael Connors. "Action Replay MAX DUO is the ultimate game enhancer for gamers on the move."

Recently launched handheld device Gizmondo is selling well, according to its creator, Tiger Telematics, with the roll-out across Europe continuing and the shipment of pre-ordered devices commencing.

The firm claims to have taken over 560,000 pre-orders for the system from customers around the world, and has now started shipping the device - which incorporates a game console, camera, movie and music player, GPS receiver and mobile communication deck - on a first come, first served basis.

The system was originally on sale only in a branded store in London's Regent Street, but is now being made available through a number of other retailers in the UK, and a pan-European launch is in the works. Gizmondo hopes to open a number of other flagship stores, similar to the Regent Street location, in cities around the world.

"The site will continue to take orders as the pan-European retail rollout commences, and we will ship to customers on a first-come-first-served basis," according to Tiger Telematics chairman Carl Freer. "We're visibly gathering momentum in the UK and that will naturally have a spill-over effect on to mainland Europe. Streetdate announcements will follow shortly detailing the pan-European launch diary and heavy hitting marketing campaigns planned for each territory."

In related news, the company has also released a statement to the financial markets regarding recent major fluctuations in its share price, assuring investors that the Gizmondo is on track to meet its targets.

The firm has expensed all development costs on the console in 2004 and early 2005, according to the statement, and funding is already in place for the launches across the rest of Europe.

"Based on a review of the recent share price volatility, this could be attributed to a combination of market conditions," stated Freer. "However, the trading patterns seem artificial in light of the recent announcements regarding our launch progress and success." ...

Gizmondo may have launched, but: a) the initial games line-up is nothing to write home about; and more importantly b) we still have yet to receive one of the handhelds for a full hands-on review. But while we await situation 'b' to be addressed, early adopters of the jack-of-all-trades device might like to know there are rumblings closely associated with situation 'a' - rumblings of the 'we've got 89 games coming out in 2005' variety.
89 games? Yes, as incredible as it sounds, that is indeed the number of titles Gizmondo Europe Ltd. claims it has planned for this year. Blanket bombing at its finest then, and with that many games out you can bet that virtually every videogame genre known to mankind is covered.

According to Eric Peterson, who heads up Gizmondo's global development operation, the games "will be comprised of original titles, both internally and externally developed, as well as very high profile licensed products."
"Our goal is to deliver a broad spectrum of high quality games, canvassing all genres. Gizmondo owners will be spoiled with all the choices they will have for games entertainment, this in addition to the music and video content already available," Peterson adds.

Microsoft Games Studios, SCI, Disney's BuenaVista Games, Team 17, and Fathammer and Ubisoft are among the companies that have signed up to support Gizmondo, and Gizmondo Europe Ltd additionally states that a further announcement concerning "one of the world's leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment" is pending. Our money's on Activision or EA.

Apparently, "Many of these new titles will be subject to their own announcement releases," according to Gizmondo Europe Ltd., with the company also stating that the games are unique to the Gizmondo and "will be optimised to use the distinctive features of the device, including the GPS, digital camera, Bluetooth, and GPRS connectivity."

Another FAME update comes here...

Here is what is new:

- Lightweighted entry/exit code.
- Fixed sign/zero flag calculation when moving long data from memory to memory.
- Privilege violation exception fixed.
- Faster interrupt/exception management.
- Timing fixed in MOVEM instructions.

It is pretty stable and fast now and has a very good level of accuracy. Almost every NeoGeo game work in Neo4all (next Neo4all release will demostrate this ).
