    CLK Rebellion released a new beta of the open-source Party Buffalo Drive Explorer that will allow you to access Xbox360 formatted drives/usb-sticks/bins:
    [QUOTE]
    Here's 1.0.0.5. Still no writing support for the standalone exe, but you can download the source and compile that with the "IsBeta" bool in the main form set to false (be careful, that form is very messy!)

    Changelog (v1.0.0.5):
    -Fixed a bug with a reading function that liked to read more bytes than it should
    -Made it so that it should request administrator permissions at startup (should fix some people's issues...)
    -Added the reading of general STFS info, as you can see from this screenshot: http://imgur.com/neMr6.png
    -Added a "properties" window for files
    -Other small bug fixes that I can't remember

    Changelog (v1.0.0.6):
    * Fix Bug when clicking the DATA folder
    Buffer = io.ReadBytes(0x2050);
    That's lovely... I have no idea why I chose a number like like that...
    I also messed up on a rounding function, and instead of putting 0x200 I put 200. Pushing out 1.0.0.6 right now.
    * Oh yeah, 1.0.0.6 has a minor edit to how it detects USB Drives. I forgot the function that returns a list of logical drives, so I did a char array and had it loop through each, detecting if the drive "IsReady", and if it wasn't then it would throw it away. Hopefully this works better... ...

    Trancy of modcontrol.com released a new version of NAND Flasher 360:
    [QUOTE]
    What is the NAND Flasher 360 for Windows?
    The NAND Flasher 360 is a NAND -flash program for MS Windows. With this program you can update to a new version of freeboot within minutes over USB. With a 16 MB NAND this takes about 8min, Including three extractions steps and one for writing. the Data gets verified for each extraction and writing step. 256/512 MB NANDs take round about 16mins (approx. 128 KB/s). Bad blocks automatically get moved to the appropriate positions (Bad block management). This works for the small as well as the larger NANDs (16/256/512MB).
    The program also extracts the KV and Config data from the current NAND and writes it to the freeboot.bin file.
    The function "write only valid data" speeds up the writing process. Empty blocks (0xFF) are no longer handled when this function is selected! This results in a 64MB large NAND file being overwritten almost as fast as a 16MB file.
    Information on the hardware and NAND is also displayed.

    What's new/fixed:
    * New BBM method, fixed rarely Bad Block
    * Open Source
    * Small Bugs fixed
    * Erase Bug fixed
    * Added option to delete entire flash (Data Partition)
    * New BBM Option: Search Bad-Blocks in original Nand Image
    * Added work on file instead on Nand (emulation NAND) ...

    Microsoft and Sony are manufacturing shortages of their Kinect and Move add-ons to ignite consumer demand, according to retail analyst Michael Pachter.

    The Wedbush Morgan motormouth told IncGamers, "Yes, I think both companies would very much like for consumers to believe that their devices are highly sought after and difficult to obtain. That usually works to spur demand.

    "Sony shipped 2.5 million units in the U.S. and Europe, and their sales are nowhere near that level, so I'm not sure how they can reconcile the fact that units shipped far exceed units sold.

    "I do think that Microsoft is managing supply a bit better," he added, "and keeping standalone Kinect supply tight to make sure that there is a steady supply through Christmas. They have shipped a lot of console bundles, to ensure that the eBay price doesn't get above $300 for the standalone unit, but supply of the standalone remains tight.

    "Sony are trying the same strategy as Microsoft with Kinect, making sure that there are plenty of bundles, but controlling supply of the standalone controllers."

    Earlier this month both Microsoft and Sony claimed that their peripherals would be in short supply over the Christmas period following stellar launches.

    Nintendo sold 1.5 million Wii and DS consoles in the US last week, with Black Friday deals reigniting consumers' dwindling enthusiasm for its hardware.

    600,000 Wiis were sold between 21st November and 27th November, and 900,000 DSes.

    "US shoppers bought about 9,000 Nintendo hardware systems nonstop for every hour of every day during the week of Black Friday," said Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime.

    "For the past several years, consumers have decided that Nintendo defined both top value and all-inclusive entertainment, and that sentiment continues again at the start of this shopping season."

    Neither Sony of Microsoft have published their figures yet, but it's an impressive showing for Nintendo nonetheless.

    As a comparison, the Xbox 360 sold 350,000 units during the whole of October in the US, making it the best selling home console of the month.

    The figures also serve to back-up Fils-Aime's recent comments about how important the holiday season is for Nintendo.

    Speaking at the BMO Capital Markets Annual Digital Entertainment Conference earlier this month, Fils-Aime said, "The holidays are more important to Nintendo than to other manufacturers. We have a distinct edge when it comes to gift-giving."

    50 per cent of all Nintendo's hardware sales last year came in November and December. "For everyone else that number was just over 40 percent," Fils-Aime claimed.

    Black Friday, the day after the annual Thanksgiving holiday, is one of the biggest shopping days of the year in the US, with consoles and software seeing huge reductions.

    Nintendo's offers this year were spearheaded by new red Wii and DS console bundles, with Donkey Kong Country Returns helping to fuel sales.

    Last year, Nintendo sold 550,000 Wiis and a million DSes over the same period.
