Hello, Virtual Console fans. Are you ready to re-buy all those retro NES and SNES games you've already bought half a dozen times? They're coming out on 3DS with enhanced 3D effects and, possibly, new features. Yeah, we thought you'd be interested.

Nintendo revealed an overwhelming amount of 3DS content at E3 last week. One rolling demo in particular showed several NES and Super NES games, including Yoshi's Island (!), Mega Man 2 and The Legend of Zelda running on the new machine with pop-up book-style 3D effects that split each of the sprite layers used in those old non-polygonal games.

You might assume it was simply a tech demo, but Nintendo America boss Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed all these titles, and more, will see a proper release on 3DS.

He went on to say not to think of them as ports, but as enhanced versions of classics which could contain new features that take advantage of the 3DS hardware's many other cool tricks (motion control, camera support, analogue control possibly).

Castlevania, Urban Champion, Kid Icarus, Smash Ping Pong, Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Tennis, Metroid and Mystery of Murasame Castle were other games shown off in the demo.

And you'll be re-buying every one of them. Again. Sucker.

Ubisoft has confirmed, via the snazzy trailer below, that Just Dance 2 will be on shelves and ready to sell by the truck load from October 14.

As the trailer also shows, the Wii-exclusive sequel will feature new modes such as an exercise-focused 'Just Sweat' mode, new Dancing Duets, Dance Crew Face-offs and will cater for up to eight players. Ornament-smashing stuff.

It'll also don over 40 'hit tracks' from "all styles of music". We'll be looking out for the dubstep, then...

We're pretty sure that even Ubisoft itself was surprised by the huge success of the first game, which blasted past the 1million sales mark in UK last month.

Twisted Metal and God Of War creator David Jaffe appears to have ruled out 3D and PlayStation Move support for his upcoming PS3 iteration of Twisted Metal.

The game was shown off for the first time at E3 this week - after being unveiled on-stage at Sony's conference on Tuesday.

However, those hoping that the title will become part of Sony's 3D revolution are set to be slightly disappointed, it seems.

"3D has to be 60 frames and we are not," said Jaffe. "We are gonna be rock solid stable but not 60. Move and Twisted don't seem a great fit."

However, Jaffe did confirm that the game will get Sixaxis support - and that pushing the controller forward would create "a powerful ram dash attack".

It was looking pretty good to us on the show floor. Our hands-on preview of the game should be arriving shortly.

The greatest soldier fights in the name of peace! Stories tell of a legendary soldier named Naked Snake. In the wake of nuclear war, the “Soldiers Without Borders” move into action in the first official Hideo Kojima game on PSP® system. Stories tell of a legendary solider who once waged war against the world. His name was Naked Snake, a.k.a. Big Boss, and the truth behind this legend will finally be told. The era is the 1970’s . Big Boss had stationed his “Soldiers Without Borders” in Colombia, South America, where he was approached by visitors from Costa Rica, a “nation without a military.” In the wake of the Cuban Missile Crisis, as Latin America became a key to maintaining the power balance between East and West, Costa Rica had miraculously managed to maintain its peace and neutrality. However, in various regions of the country, a mysterious armed force seemed to be engaging in suspicious activities. Now, to preserve peace in this nation without a military, the “Soldiers Without Borders” move into action. In time, they would be known as the founders of “Outer Heaven.” Forge a new path and live the legend with METAL GEAR SOLID PEACE WALKER, the first official Hideo Kojima game on the PSP system.

As the official peripheral manufacturer for Rock Band 3 instruments, Mad Catz was at E3 showing off its new Rock Band products (sans game). On the outside, the MIDI PRO-Adapter (pictured above in all three flavors) looks like a chunky, 16-bit era controller -- in fact, in can be used as a gamepad, confirms Mad Catz global PR manager Alex Verrey. Inside, the device contains the technology to convert a real MIDI instrument into a Rock Band 3 controller. (The adapter is not compatible with other music games.)

The PRO-Adapter connects to an Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii via USB, and the MIDI instrument plugs into the port on the side of the device. A three-way switch in the center (above the system button) toggles between drum, keyboard and guitar inputs. Just above the switch, is the velocity adjustment wheel used to "tune" MIDI drums and reduce cross-talk during gameplay. The triangular wedge button on the bottom right of the PRO-Adapter activates "Overdrive" mode in Rock Band 3, and a belt clip on the back of the peripheral keeps the adapter secured to your person (just mind the length of the USB cable as you leap about). There's also a headset jack on the adapter.

"We can't possibly guarantee compatibility with all MIDI instruments," warns Verrey, but the MIDI PRO-Adapter "should work with the vast, vast majority." Verrey guarantees compatibility with the real Fender Squier Stratocaster guitar that works with Rock Band 3, and a full MIDI instrument compatibility list will be published prior to the MIDI PRO-Adapter retail release ($40) this holiday.

With a name like "PS3 MMO Controller" there's probably not much more that you need to know about this monstrous creation from Hori. It isn't exactly Final Fantasy themed, but seems to be targeted for those who will be chocobo breeding in XIV. Its main component is, of course, the big white keyboard, but there's also that extension on the left side, replicating the left portion of a Dual Shock and looking like something found on a Battlestar Galactica set (the original, natch). On the right side of the keyboard lies the other analog stick and full complement of buttons. We're thinking we'd rather tackle the denizens of hell for real than attempt God of War 3 with this thing, but for the massive crowd it should do quite well -- whenever it actually ships. Hori didn't have a price in mine just yet either.
