    News/release from AlexE

    Flash Spacer V3 By alex_e

Tested on 5.00m33-4 on a psp phat

This application removes and back-ups certain files in flash0. currently, it installs, unistall the location free player, the dic folder and unistalls the camera feature located in the xmb thus
saving you approximatley 3mb so far.
It Know lets you install custom Xmb files to the flash0.
to do this you must have the following files:

    font/gb3s1518.bwfon
    font/jpn0.pgf
    font/ltn0.pgf
    vsh/module/paf.prx
    vsh/module/vshmain.prx
    vsh/resource/impose_plugin.rco
    vsh/resource/sysconf_plugin.rco
    vsh/resource/system_plugin.rco
    vsh/resource/system_plugin_bg.rco
    vsh/resource/system_plugin_fg.rco
    vsh/resource/topmenu_icon.rco
    vsh/resource/topmenu_plugin.rco

you need all of these for it to work, you will have to run flash spacer first, it will then create the folder Custom XMB, in that folder you place those files and folders.
if one of those files are missing, flash spacer will not flash the custom xmb.
if the custom xmb is corrupt of it isnt for the correct firmware, you will semi-brick and you will have to restore the flash0 back-up that was made at start up.

    Installation

copy Flash Spacer V3 to PSP/GAME

this will work in any of the game folders and will now create and restore back-ups.
this should also run the slim, but with any programs that access the flash beware.

    Controls:
    UP- UP
    DOWN-DOWN
    [X]- SELECT

    Further info:

Restoring functions if back ups are lost.
you will either have to dump a the fw you are running and restore them manually
or you will have to up/down grade the fw.

    Changelog:
    Added a Fully Operational Menu
    Improved Code
Fixed A Bug Where Files Wont Copy Properly In V2.7
    Added Saftey Checks
Dumps Flash0 When Booted For The Time.
Allows You To Flash A Flash0 Custom XMB
    Dumps Flash 0, 1 , 2 and 3
Removed The DIC Folder, Location Free Player And The Web-Browser.( I Recomend Using Netfront Internet Browser Beta 3 - HighMemoryMod By Team P86 )
Now Restores Cert.dat from Flash 2

In Bubble Drop for S60 5th Edition (5800 XM, N97, etc.) by DarkSun Technologies you burst bubbles by clicking groups of same colored bubbles. Score more by popping larger groups of bubbles. And then... there's acid, fire and bomb to add a twist to gameplay.

    3. Backup up all files from the internal storage as these are deleted in the process.

INSTALLING THE USB DRIVER IN WINDOWS VISTA:
    1. Put the Dingoo a-320 is USB mode by pressing and holding the B button while inserting a pin or similar into the reset hole
    2. Conect the USB cable between your computer and Dingoo
    3. Now you need to install the windows USB driver for JZ4740 USB Boot device. Click "Locate and install driver software"
    4. Click on "I don't have the disc. Show me other options"
    5. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
    6. Browse to where you extracted the files and choose "Next".
    7. Accept the security warning by clicking "Install this driver software anyway"
    8. The driver should now install and a final confirmation screen should pop up informing you that the driver was successfully installed as "Chinachip USB loader". Click "Close"

    FLASHING PROCESS:
    1. Run "flashutil.exe" as administrator by right clicking the file and choose "Run as administrator".
    2. Click the "Select" button in the "System DL Config" field and choose "A320_PD27_ILI9325_RLS.dl".

    7. Disconnect the USB cable. The dingoo will now reset and reboot. It will not start up as usual because of the missing system files.

    REPLACING THE SYSTEM FILES:
    1. Connect the USB cable again.
    2. Reset the Dingoo by inserting a pin or similar into the reset hole
    3. After a couple of seconds the Dingoo comes up as a physical drive. Open the drive.
    4. Copy the contents of the 'ROOT FILES' directory into the root directory ( the same location as GAME, PICURE, RECORD etc )
    5. Reset the Dingoo again by inserting a pin or similar into the reset hole

You are done. The Dingoo should boot up as normal.

    CUSTOMIZING THEMES AND FONTS:
The directories “a”, “b”, “c” and “d” within the “res” directory contains the images/icons for the main navigation menu. The default contents of each of these directories are practically the same (filenames and number of files) The only obvious difference is that the 2 wallpaper files are different images.
Please remember that no matter what you do you must have the same naming convention, the same number of files in each of the “theme” directories and we are only replacing existing images/icons with our own modified versions!

    FONTS:
The font directory within the res directory contains the menu fonts that the Dingoo uses

    OVERCLOCKING FEATURES:
It is now possible to overclock the CPU a bit. I did not overclock this firmware by default as per request.
Instead you can overclock your dingoo if needed by going to 'Apps' and select the desired clockspeed from 200 - 430 by pressing the A button.
Please note that it looks like nothing happens when you select a clockspeed.

Forbes looks at some of Apple's latest maneuverings and concludes the company is muscling up on its mobile gaming business.

This week, Apple picked off two guys with heavyweight résumés - Richard Teversham, Microsoft's former Xbox strategy-mans, and Bob Drebin, who at Advanced Micro Device created the Gamecube's graphics processor. Those developments, added to Apple's investments in graphics and semiconductor technology, translate to "snappier, better looking games," on the iPhone and iPod Touch, writes Forbes.

Also notable, programmers say Apple reminds them to develop for different resolutions and screen sizes. Considering the profound success of the iTunes App Store, which just passed a billion downloads, and gold-rush tales of indie developers striking it rich with simple games, Apple's investment in creating more robust games and apps is a no-brainer. But whether it amounts to a new device, or one with a gaming focus, is anyone's guess.
