GxGeo is a port of the open-source GnGeo emulator, originally coded by pepone. This is a Neo-Geo AES/MVS emulator.

    23/11/2008 (latest)

Today I am happy enough with GxGeo to release it, the source code is a mess so I if you'd like it ask me for it - I'd rather not spread messy code and bad examples
I have only tested this release on a PAL SDTV but it should fit on an NTSC SDTV, no idea about HDTV hehe
There are still some sound issues, maybe just with PAL.. I'm not sure, more testing is required
This release will boot some large ROMs but not all of them will run at full speed - Metal Slug 2 is one of these
Larger ROMs (Metal Slug 3) will still not load - some kind of paging system is required

    News from Evil Dragon:

    Hi folks!

The last weeks have been crazy. There's so much we learnt: Worldwide Financial crisis' are not good - banks go crazy, which lead to the huge 'refund and repay'-issue (which is still going on...). It's also not good for all the part manufactures - as they tend to become very cautious which leads to delays. And state-of-the-art products are complicated to produce (the mass production companies are still optimizing to be able to produce the Pandora without having too many broken boards!)
Yep, we learnt a lot and it is already much we achieved. But there's still some things to do.

You've all been waiting for a status update, eh? Well, here it comes:

    1. Almost ALL drivers have been finished and work fine so far!
    2. 20 MK2 devboards have been produced and have been sent out to some devs!
    3. PXML Fileformat definition is finished.
    4. Prototype keypad and case have been ordered (nope, we don't know yet exactly when they're finished)
    5. Chip from the GP32x.com boards is now officially helping us with tiny news and informations. Thanks a bunch and welcome to the team!

So, as you might've guessed, we can't deliver the final units end of November. It might even take until 2009 - but we won't say any date yet. With all those delays the various manufacturers had, it's nigh impossible to give out a date. But we're really working hard to make it as soon as possible! Promised!
We're really sorry about that - but because of that financial crise, everything in the world seems to have gone crazy (heck, even my Pandora-Poloshirts have been delayed for over a week already!). Without that, we had a very good chance to finish in-time - but that crisis was something we didn't expect. Nobody did, I guess. We also like to THANK YOU VERY MUCH for supporting us! We won't let you down - and this is another promise!

Now, to show you guys we've been working on some stuff:
The most recent kernel source can be downloaded using our GIT server:
    git://git.openpandora.org/pandora-kernel.git
Use the pandora-27-omap1 branch for the moment, there will soon be a 2.6.28.

Get the latest definition of the PXML format here.

Oh, and if you need a subdomain, webspace or GIT Server for any Pandora-Project, be sure to send me (EvilDragon) an eMail (EvilDragon_at_openpandora.org). We will host it for free!

Now, back to work for me... and sorry again about any delays. I know how you feel... I had to wait for my PSP, eeePC, mobile phone... hmm. Is there ANY device today that is being released the day it has been announced for? Hmmm...

WHAT DO YOU get if you take an Iphone, remove the clean UI, user friendliness, nice industrial design, battery life, cachet, functional OS, and in general everything else that makes it worthwhile? The new Microsoft phone, powered by Nvidia.

Yeah, you heard it right, MS is going to make its own branded phone, after all, everyone kicking the company around the block has one, so it should too! If you were wondering why Nvidia never mentions the phrase Linux when talking Tegra, even though it is the most appropriate OS for the chip, now you know. NV appears to have sold Linux out to get the MS flagship deal, how nice of them.

The phone is slated to be announced at 3GSM this coming February, so if you plan on attending, please look surprised when MS unveils it. No word on when it will hit the streets but it probably won't be long after that.

We think this 'me too' phone will have all the success of the Zune. With that device, MS showed they know how to make an MP3 player that people want, great design, a UI that is vastly superior to the competition, and enough added bells and whistles so it is sure to disappoint the eight kids who find them under a Christmas tree.

Then there is the whole problem of partners. MS loves partners, using the Zune as an example, it is hard to see why anyone would not stick with the firm. Has MS ever up and decided to cut it's entire partner ecosystem off with a hearty 'too bad'? I mean this year. Forget about 2006. Really. Please. While we haven't heard any specifics yet, it is the MS MO to surprise their loyal partners and take the market they created. We would be quite surprised if they didn't do it this time.

In any case, well-placed sources tell the Inq that the phone is powered by the long-promised Nvidia Tegra chip. This means battery life measured in minutes and a long list of promised features that mostly work as long as you don't mind the odd bout of data corruption. Ironically, this is quite the natural fit for an MS OS.

In the end, we only have three months or so to wait. It has all the pieces to be a stunningly mediocre product, with none of the things that made the Iphone or Gphone great. About the only thing you can say is that they have a mostly functional store in place now. ยต

It's going to be a very merry Christmas for the employees of Nintendo Australia off the back of some stunning sales figures for the region over the past financial year.

Independent research by GfK Australia, which supplied the latest figures, has shown that the Nintendo DS currently has an install base in Australia of more than 1.5 million units. According to a press release by Nintendo Australia itself, this makes Nintendo DS the fastest selling console to reach this milestone in 194 weeks. Similarly Wii has reached the milestone of 750,000 units sell through in 102 weeks, making Wii the fastest selling console to hit this mark.

Also of note, Wii Music appears to be doing surpringly solid business in Australia too - selling through more than 28,000 copies to date. Wii Fit continues to hold top sales figures for 12 consecutive weeks following launch; and last week, week 46 2008, was the biggest selling week on record for Wii, with Wii selling through more than 35,000 units.
