    Channel File Manager is based on WAD Manager 1.21 and AnyTitle Deleter and allows you to manage your Wii channel menu. You can install devices from your choice, and uninstall. The homebrew may also use your CIOS to benefit the installation chains.

    You must create a folder named wad at the root of your device (SD Card, SD Gecko or USB storage device) and put all your files WAD.
    If you want to delete a title and you do not have the WAD file in the choice of device select "Internal Memory of the Wii."

    Note: The version using the Custom Channel IOS File Manager is compatible only with versions revision 04 (rev04) of IOS Custom tona and Waninkoko (or higher).

    News from LBGShi

    Before I begin, I should note that Oobles gave the OK for me to make this thread, and the project on the PS2Dev.org main site as well. Given the atmosphere, and that some PS2Dev members are quite opposed to cheat/hacking systems, it would be a grave error not to mention that, so I hope Oobles doesn't mind my name-dropping

    For some time now (several years, off and on), GSHI.org administrative staff and several select members of the scene have been working, in secret, on something tentatively called Project Artemis: a hacking system for the Playstation 2. The primary goal of this project is to allow users to create, or hack, their own cheat and game enhancement codes, using RAM-dumping, dump comparison, constant memory writes for testing, breakpoints, and as many other tools as feasible.

    The project is far from complete. There have been quite a few stumbling blocks, and some impressive progress has been made. Through several primary coders (Sang123, Hit n' Run Games, misfire, Shyam Narain, Xerxes Technologies, cYs Driver), it has been determined that...

    A: Hiring a company to design such a system will result in either paying tens of thousands of dollars, or ending up with a company that cannot complete the project, and...

    B: Hiring a solitary coder, such as a skilled member of the scene, will eventually result in the coder being overwhelmed.

    Hence, lacking the necessary funds to hire a coding group or company adept enough to complete the task at hand within a reasonable amount of time, we have made the best decision possible, with Artemis, GSHI, and the scene in mind: to bring the project out of the darkness, and into the realm of open source.

    If anyone is interested in contributing (even an indication of interest in the project helps!), feel free to make a post, if only to say so. We will continue to chronicle our progress, research, and thoughts here: http://gshi.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=56

    ...though I will be quite happy to respond to any questions or comments you have here as well.     The guys at codemii have updated the Homebrew Browser again, heres the release details:

    Able to view currently installed applications
    Fixed bug in downloading and removing applications which affected uno and may have affected other applications
    Retries increased to 10 times with a longer pause in-between
    Able to reboot the Wii by holding B and pressing Home
    Detects if you have a .elf version of any application and lets you update that application
    Now uses zip files which means download sizes are reduced (thanks Tantric)
    Added SDHC support
    Detects if HBB icon or meta file exist, if they don’t then it downloads them
    Thanks to Tantric the Homebrew Browser now has zip support. This means that applications that were classified as having too many files can now be included in the HBB. Applications now will take less time to download however the trade off is it takes a little while to extract the zip files.

    A new beta release of Dolphin the Gamecube and Nintendo Wii Emulator for Windows has been released.





    Dolphin is a Gamecube emulator. It also has preliminary support for Wii and basic Triforce emulation (this is pending a commit, and does not run games yet).

    Gamecube compatibility is about the same (or worse, due to various core changes and lack of subsequent compatibility work) as previous releases.

    Wii compatibility is very low. Some games show their intro movies, that's it. There is preliminary Wiimote emulation but it does not work yet.

    [bunnie] managed to pick up a Nintendo DSi while in Japan. It seems he had the device running less than an hour before he tore it down for an impromptu hotel photoshoot. There’s nothing too surprising and he mentions that the CPU certainly feels more capable than the previous model, which may explain the shorter battery life. The ARM processor sits under an RF shield directly below the WiFi card. The best photo is the top side of the board with every single debug point labeled in plain English on the silkscreen. We’re sure that’ll help with the development of new homebrew hardware.

    Publishing juggernaut Activision recently partnered up with the United Service Organization, a non-profit group whose sole purpose is to boost the morale of those currently serving in the armed forces, to give the gift of gaming to a bunch of people who have really earned it. At a launch event for Call of Duty: World at War at a Washington D.C. GameStop, customers will be able to play the title online with active servicemen and servicewomen -- in addition, for every copy of World at War purchased at the event, Activision will donate $10 to the USO. On top of all that, Activision will also donate $100,000 worth of Guitar Hero III to military bases across the globe.

    This rather altruistic showing might just be exactly what Activision needed to win back the heart of the gaming community in the wake of a few upsetting comments recently made by CEO Bobby Kotick. We're a forgiving lot, aren't we, guys?
