    description
In this brand new storyline created exclusively for the Nintendo DS™, the battle between Soul Reapers and soulless Hollows hits an all-time high when the evil Hollows finally find a way to infiltrate Soul Society.

It all started when artificial souls with super-powered arms and legs were created to fight Hollows in a top secret experiment. These "Mod Souls," like Kon, were never meant to exist beyond the project but when they found out they were to be exterminated, they hatched a plan to escape Soul Society. Together their collective energy unwittingly opened portals throughout Soul Society that provided easy access to the ever-vigilant Hollows and set off the most intense high-action sword battles the video game series has seen to-date.

Microsoft will offer "storage solutions" to Xbox 360 Arcade owners and those with no Hard Drive space to install the New Xbox Experience update.

The dashboard revamp, which has just been dated for November 19, requires a minimum of 128MB of free storage space - or at least a 256MB memory card.

So Arcade users and those with 64MB cards are basically buggered, but according to Major Nelson Microsoft will come to the rescue...

"While we expect the majority of consumers to download the New Xbox Experience without a problem, a small percentage of Xbox 360 owners do not have enough memory to accommodate the update," Microsoft's mouth told the X360 Fanboy blog.

"To help ensure all Xbox Live members are able to download the New Xbox Experience and enjoy its new features, Microsoft will be offering storage solutions to the Xbox Live community. We are not sharing details of this offering yet. Be sure to check xbox.com for more details in the coming weeks."

Common sense suggests some sort of memory card mailing promotion then, unless the Major's going to come over your house and help clear out downloaded gamerpics and themes.

NXE adds a completely redesigned menu system, Avatars, the ability to install games to your HDD and more. Have a look at it over here. ...

LocoRoco 2 is an awful lot like LocoRoco. Sure it has a German blob and swimming and a rhythm game, but all of that is just a few more cherries on what I've always felt was a wonderful sundae of a Playstation Portable game.

I sped through a single level of the game at Tokyo Game Show earlier this week and quickly found myself falling back in love with the cute graphics and catchy nonsense music. The controls remain great and, unless my imagination was playing tricks on me, feel a bit more responsive than the first time through.

The basic controls of the game remain the same. You're still tilting and bumping the playing field to get your LocoRoco to move around. There are still some hidden areas and the occasional enemy you have to either avoid or flatten with your globularness. I did stumble across what I believe is a new sort of creature. A bee of sorts that if you fail to avoid stings you. When your LocoRoco gets a sting a little red-tipped welt forms on the creature. Every time the LocoRoco rolls over his sticky-outtie bump he sort of cries. It's quite endearing and made me both laugh in surprise the first time and feel just a little bit bad.

I also ran across a couple of the mini rhythm games. In them you have to tap a face button to a rhythm, trying to land a series of music notes which you collect for some reason unknown to me.

Like I said, more of the same but in a very wonderful way.

You have to feel a little bad for WiiWare. Just when it manages to mount a decent effort with the completely solid-looking World of Goo, here's what the Virtual Console answers back with:

Secret of Mana (Super NES, 1-3 players, 800 Wii Points) -- Oh, you remember Secret of Mana, it's only one of the very best role-playing games ever, with two million copies shipped worldwide. It's also got one of the best pieces of box art in history, not that you'll get to enjoy that.

    Oh, and...

Street Fighter II: Special Championship Editon (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) -- In case you have as hard a time keeping SFII games straight at we do, allow us to remind you that this is the one that blends Turbo, Hyper and Champion editions and adds the Group Battle mode. (P.S. Do yourself a favor and check out that video we linked to, it's a treat.)

Wow, WiiWare, that's gotta hurt. At least Art Style: Cubello is there to soften the blow.

While the vast majority of iPhone customers opt for all-inclusive (but expensive) contracts, those miserly pay as you go customers that depend on the $20 MEdia Net unlimited data add-on to save money in the long term will be upset to find that, as of November 12th, they won't have that option. AT&T has decided to end the service, which — though never intended for use with the iPhone — was the sole reason that many people could justify paying the full unsubsidized price, because it was relatively unpopular. The announcement was made in a text sent to MEdia Net users:

    News from Sonys Blog

Hi everyone. We’ve been listening to all of your feedback about the PS3 and PSP, and with these next firmware updates (coming soon), we’ve added a number of new features and improved some existing functionality to make your PS3/PSP experience even better.

    PSP (v5.00) update
Let’s start with the v5.00 update for PSP. In this version, you’ll notice the addition of the PlayStation Network icon on the XMB. You can now sign up for PlayStation Network, manage your account and access PlayStation Store directly from your PSP - meaning you can download games directly to your PSP while connected via Wi-Fi. Getting games, demos and trailers while on-the-go has never been easier! Check out the screen below.

The current PlayStation Store on the PC will be down in the interim as we take some time to revamp. Don’t worry, it will re-launch soon after we’ve made some tweaks. Please keep in mind, if you already have a PlayStation Network account, simply sign in on your PSP using your existing information. The same account and wallet can be used on PS3 and PSP. You will be able to check out the PlayStation Store on the PSP soon, as we’ll have a video demo featuring Grace Chen posted soon on the Blog.

Update v5.00 adds a sleep timer option that can be used while you are playing music on your PSP. In addition, we’ve added a full screen keyboard option for text entry and have redesigned the background of the XMB. You’ll be able to find all of the information on Firmware v5.00 here once it goes live.

    PS3 (v2.50) update
Now on to the PS3 v2.50 update. The latest features/enhancements include:

Support for the PS3 Official Bluetooth Headset - we’ve told you about the upcoming Bluetooth Headset and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation Bundle on the Blog. This latest firmware installment enables High-Quality (HQ) mode, which delivers clear and wide-band online voice chat. On top of that, an added on-screen indicator shows battery status, volume level and use of HQ mode.
PlayStation Trophies interface enhancements - I know that many of you are busy collecting trophies and raising your PlayStation Trophy level. This update makes sharing and comparing your trophies with your friends even easier. On 1st part of the profile page you’ll see a symbol under level that represents level and the actual percentage towards the next level along with the existing level meter. The level symbol carries over to the trophy comparison screen where you will now be able to see your level, your friend’s level and the percentage towards the next level for both users along with all of the game by game comparison information you see today.
Friend status – Offline friends on your Friends list will have information below their avatars that will indicate how long it has been since they were last online.
Video – This update adds the Scene Search feature similar to the feature on the PSP. Activating this feature while viewing a video on the PS3 will break the video up into scenes that you can quickly access by pressing the X button. You can break the videos into one, two or five minute intervals. In addition, you can now choose to have all of the videos under the video section of the XMB play in sequence. Go to Settings then Video Settings to turn this option on.
PlayStation Store – We’ve added a redeem codes option right on the store to make it easier to redeem your PlayStation Network Cards and promotion codes. In addition, PlayStation Network Sign Up and Account Management have been redesigned.
Power Save Settings – You can now set your PS3 and wireless controllers to turn off automatically after set periods of inactivity. Go to Settings then Power Save Settings to turn on these features.
Background Downloading - You now have the option to set the PS3 to turn off automatically after a background download or installation of content has completed. This option is available when you turn off the system from the button under [Users] while content is being downloaded or installed.
In-game Screenshots - this tool will allow everyone to capture, share and in other words, immortalize their favorite gameplay moments. This will be supported on a game by game basis. Please check back to find out which games will support this feature.
In addition to all of the features above there are some additional features and enhancements included in 2.50. Once the update launches, you can read all of the details here.
The support for the Bluetooth Headset will be of particular interest to all of you SOCOM fans. With the “Proximity Chat” feature, SOCOM: Confrontation gameplay is intensified as it allows you to experience high-quality voice playback in full surround sound. Whether the action is near or far, Proximity Chat clearly matches distance to sound effects and voiceovers within the game, putting you in the heart of the action.

Enjoy and please share your thoughts with us.

    Updated release from Stonebone

Tetattds is a game for Nintendo DS based on the game Tetris Attack by Nintendo / Intelligent Systems. The aim is to line up three or more panels in a stack to make them ‘pop’. The game is over when the stack reaches the top of the screen. If more than three blocks are removed it is called a ‘combo’. If pieces falling down lines up it is called a ‘chain’.

    What’s new:

    * Network protocol rewritten
    * Support 8 players
    * Fix displaying highscores

Me and Gustav spent some time during the summer to rewrite the network protocol. Every packet is now smaller which means we can send them much more often. Every client now only sends the changes to the playfield (delta) and also the last seen version of the other players’ fields (ack). The whole field is sent if a new player joins or the delta is so big that it is more efficient to send the whole field. It also sends a new packet directly after reciving a packet from the player on the left. Before it simply sent packets at a fixed interval. The improvement is very noticable with two players.

Unfortunately the improvement is most apparent when using dswifi (”Internet”). It seems liblobby (”Local”) is not as fast.

My friends requested that you could see your own field on the upper screen. This is useful after the round is over to look at what you could have done to survive. This would have reduced the number of players to 4, but I’ve added a button (X) to switch the upper screen to show players 5-8. I noticed this doesn’t work very well on Nintendo DS after packaging this release, because I’ve only tested 8 players in the SDL version. Sorry about that. But if you do get 8 people together please let me know.

    News/release from Pac

    Hi everyone!

I'm new here (and to ds development) and I wanted to get some feedback on this game I've been developing this past week. It's a little FPS, with aliens!
At this point it's still a work in progress, only 3 levels, very few SFX and just one weapon, but I think there is already enough to show and get some suggestions.

    The controls are:

    pad - move around
l/r - strafe (yeah, no stylus controls yet)
    a - shoot
y - reload ( you have unlimited ammo, but have to reload manually)
    start - pause
select - return to title screen

In each level there is a blue key hidden that is needed to open the exit door.

Also, some credits, I used the NitroEngine to help me code this, very nice!
