Leading video game developer and publisher Tecmo today announced a holiday lineup filled with a variety of games in several genres, promising hours of fun and excitement for every gamer in the family. From an update of everyone's all-time favorite football game to an adventure with a Greco-Roman gladiator, Tecmo has it all!

Tecmo's holiday lineup will include the following four titles:

    ROBOCALYPSE (Nintendo DS / October 28, 2008)

Developed by Vogster Entertainment, Robocalypse is an innovative, new, real-time strategy (RTS) game for the Nintendo DS. Featuring robotic armies equipped with unique weaponry, Robocalypse offers deep strategic warfare and a twist of humor.

A technological breakthrough for the Nintendo DS, Robocalypse features over 50 A.I. driven units with advanced distributed path-finding, dynamic music and stunning 3D particle effects. Supporting these advancements is a hilarious storyline penned by Jay Lender, a writer and director for the acclaimed cartoon series SpongeBob Squarepants, and Micah Wright, known for his writing contributions across multiple mediums.

Early previews of Robocalypse have been very positive, with the title receiving the runner-up spot in July for IGN's Best of E3 2008, Best Strategy Game for Nintendo DS.

Robocalypse has been rated "E10+" by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) and will carry a suggested retail price of US $29.99. For the latest information on this wacky but challenging title, please visit www.robocalypse.com.

    SPRAY (Wii / October 28, 2008)

An action-platformer game packed with puzzle elements, SPRay features a unique gameplay mechanic involving the use of several liquids that are sprayed onto the game universe.

Players will play a spirited prince named Ray who must save his village from a banished evil queen who's returned to capture and enslave the villagers. After donning a magic crown which summons two liquid spraying spirits, he sets out to defeat the evil queen and her army of anti-matter soldiers. The key will be to skillfully use the "angelic" and "wicked" spirits to spray water, oil, slime and other liquids on enemies and surfaces to solve puzzles and wipe out evil. SPRay also features several amusing mini-games in multiplayer mode, where up to four players can challenge themselves in games such as "Paint It!" and "Sticky Chewing Gum."

SPRay has not yet been rated by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB). The game will carry a suggested retail price of US $39.99. Additional information will be available at www.spray2play.com.

Got yourself a Japanese Wii? Then connect to the Everybody's Nintendo Channel and you'll find a sweet little present: a demo of Dragon Ball DS, or as its known outside of Japan, Dragon Ball: Origins.

The demo of the latest Dragon Ball game offers players a chance to get used to young Goku's controls. Fully stylus based, the control scheme lets you switch off between hand-to-hand and rod-based combat all the while jumping over chasms and pushing massive rocks and crates out of your way.

Nintendo will be removing the demo on the the 17th, after which (barring the release of a similar demo in the US), you'll have to fly to Japan and make the download at DS Station retail kiosks.

Sega has an all new Shining Force game in development for the DS. The latest issue of Famitsu has a first report on Shining Force Feather.

In Shining Force Feather, players take control of main character Jin, a treasure hunter and wanderer. The game takes place 3,000 years following the war between the Shining Force warriors and enemy forces known as the Kyomu. That war is remembered primarily as artifacts, which is where Jin comes into the picture.

On one of his treasure hunts, Jin discovers Alfeen who, while looking like a young lady, is actually a machine. A remnant from the war of 3,000 years ago, Alfeen is used to control an air ship. The only reason she survived to modern times is that she was a backup control unit and was never put to use. Believing Jin to be her master, she powers up an air ship that was used during the Shining Force times.

This is where the story begins, with Jin and Alfeen traveling the world. Joining them is Bail, a centaur and childhood friend of Jin.

Feather will feature a turn-based strategic battle system with an overhead perspective. Select an enemy for attack, and the game switches to a side perspective. Here, the battle system takes on somewhat of an action feel as you press buttons to select from various actions.

In addition to solo attacks, the battle system will allow players to team up their forces for combination attacks.

The title represents somewhat of multi-part collaborative effort for Sega. While Yoichi Shimosato is serving as producer, Sega is entrusting development to Flight Plan, a studio known for the Summon Night series. Character designs are being handled by both Pako (Shining Force EXA) and Noiji Ito (Haruhi Suzumiya series).

Shining Force Feather is currently 60% complete and will see Japanese release in Spring of 2009.

Tricforce has found another great piece of homebrew for the DS, heres what he posted:

While browsing the net in the hope i might find some new obscure homebrew games, i stumbled across a Japanese site by MeRAMAN, which has a few brews that must have gone unnoticed by most people in the scene. This one was released back in April as far as i can tell. It's just a ridiculous game where you can press the buttons to change the characters expressions, move them up and down, or throw onions.

Funcom has told Eurogamer that an Xbox 360 version of Age of Conan will definitely be released.

"The Xbox 360 version is still very much set to happen and we are working on it," said Erling Ellingsen, chief horn-blower for Funcom.

"However, there are no dates set, even though we aim for a 2009 release. Our big priority now is, of course, the PC version and fixing the issues with it and improving it for our current players."

Work began on the console MMO in December 2006, but was put to one side during the run up to the PC launch in May this year.

The plan was to follow with an Xbox 360 version of Age of Conan roughly 12 months later.

However, observers speculated that the amount of work needed to keep the PC community playing, plus the perils of the Xbox Live platform (certification for patches - eek!) meant Funcom may not bother with a console version after all.

Contrary to this, Age of Conan was shown being controlled by an Xbox 360 pad during Games Convention last month. This is the work of Blue Orb and clever PC application SwitchBlade, though.

Funcom is currently testing an upcoming PvP rewards patch for Age of Conan, which will offer the best battlers impressive equipment sold from specialist NPCs. ...

Thanks to dsscene for finding a release ive not seen before. Heres the info:

This is another brew by MeRAMAN. A version of Tetris that seems to have an online wifi ranking built into it. (Gotta love that Gradius font). I must admit i haven't actually tried it yet but the latest version i could find on his server was from the 15th of August. On the homepage i noticed one listed as 2008/08/29 but couldn't find a download for it. The zip is 25MB so i just uploaded it to rapidshare to save a bit of bandwidth.
