    News/release from Tbag:

I have been working on this game for some time now, as I planned to make a hentai visual novel game it turned to something else. I am now trying to make the engine of this game open source so others can make their visual novel games. I just happen to make mine a hentai VN with a mini game involved so it does not get so boring. I have decided to wait before I actually start game to get kicked off as i plan to remake the interface, buttons, sprites, backgrounds, etc. before that happens. For now I just want to complete the engine

    Engine Implementations:
Developers splash screen, Menu, Chapters with text page engine, Touch Game

    Left to do:
Credits, Load and Save, Scroll fix for touch game, load a new background for every page in text page engine, multiple stages for touch game, counter for touch game (this will count how many love points you have until you get to the next stage, at x number of love points next stage will be initiated)

Comments: the code for this game has become messy but it works for what it is. You can do what ever you want with the engine, change it, expand it, fix it, whatever. I will accept any help if given, the more ppl to help me finish this engine the better. I have to give credit to retrohead who helped me with the text engine.

Let's face it: you're a busy PS3 owner. You've got plenty of Blu-ray movies to watch, CDs to rip onto your system, photos to upload for slideshows, and 'Net browsing to do. Or perhaps you're just too absorbed in the latest PS3 game to hit the system to worry about all the digital content that's flooding the PSN every Thursday. Well, have no fear -- we'll take care of that for you. Every Thursday, we'll scour the recent updates for those gems that every PS3 owner should have residing on their system.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This week, players were presented with a lot of add-on content, along with an invite to the Home closed beta and an opportunity to become part of the Resistance 2 beta as well. Videos also flooded this week's update, along with Talkman Travel to help you when you go globetrotting. But let's stop wasting time…Here are this week's picks:

Qore Episode 03: August, 2008 ($2.99 Issue, $24.99 Annual Subscription)
    File size: 1.34 GB

While we've been on the fence with Qore, this month's issue is definitely one to check out if you happen to be a shooter fan and an Annual Subscription holder because it will give you access to the Resistance 2 Beta. It also includes some mini-games and features on upcoming games.

    Add-on Content
    Snakeball Team Mode ($1.99)

We dug the release of Snakeball when it came out, and the addition of Team Mode only expands the experience with additional team-based fun. You can't go wrong with this extra for the price.

    Game Videos
The Last Guy Behind The Scenes
    File size: 587 MB (HD)

With tongue planted firmly in cheek, this behind the scenes video gives a quick view at the developers behind The Last Guy, a creative rescue title with maps and monsters. Other videos of note within the update include the latest Dead Space animated feature, Madden NFL 09 videos and E3 trailers of Home, Tomb Raider: Underworld and The Force Unleashed.

    PS3 Themes
    PlayStation Home Theme
    File size: 4.02 MB

Not only does the PlayStation Home theme have a cool blueprint look to it, but it's also got an awesome extra attached: by downloading it, you are applying to become part of the upcoming closed Home beta. What are you waiting for? Go get it now!

    PS3 Wallpaper
Tomb Raider: Underworld Mediterranean Shark Attack
    File Size: 1MB

We liked all of the wallpapers, but we thought that the Tomb Raider wallpaper was great to showoff some of the action that Lara will face during her game. You should also check out the other wallpapers as well, particularly the third one which shows off many of the game characters.

    Talkman Travel

Looking for a way to communicate in a foreign land, but you don't know the language? Check out Talkman Travel, which will help you express yourself in French, Italian or Japanese.

    Game Videos
Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds 2 Characters and Courses Trailer
    File Size: 6.36 MB

Trying to get a sense of the golfers you'll go against on the links? Check out this trailer where you'll be introduced to the faces and courses of Out of Bounds 2. All of the videos are good, but this one is a good way to know who's who in the popular sports game.

Alek has posted screens of all the known PSP motherboards on the market, from the article:

Here's a simple relation of all the known PSP Motherboards. There are different versions of them, but are just virtual ones, you won't find a difference printed on the board.

For the ones that don't know yet, Baryon is same as the syscon, and Tachyon is the chip that contains the ME, CPU,and VRAM decryption mask roms.

But despite the similarity, Xbox 360 users still pay subscription fees for the Xbox Live Gold multiplayer matching service, while PC gamers will not. Does Microsoft see a dichotomy here?

"What we've got is two different groups who are trying to do what's best and offering value for their customers," Unangst (Microsoft's Games for Windows head) said. "The Games for Windows team and the Games for Windows Live team looked at this and said, 'What do we need to do to make sure this adopted broadly and has value?'"
"And that's all those changes -- the UI, the Marketplace, the fact that we're not going to have the same content. On Xbox Live, I think they've done everything to continue to add value to the Gold subscription."

With same friends lists, Gamertag and a shared currency in Microsoft Points, Unangst points to what he calls a "common underpinning." On the Xbox 360, however, Unangst says the focus is more largely on "things that make sense for the console."
"So those services will evolve in different directions. You'll have different types of content that we offer."

Mötley Crüe is on tour for Crüefest. So, of course, Rock Band will be releasing songs by bands on the tour in a 30 day sale where you can get each for a dollar. Songs include Mötley Crüe's “Face Down in the Dirt”, Buckcherry's “Rescue Me”, and Sixx:A.M. with “Life Is Beautiful”. The actual concert will, like the Rock Band tour, allow you to play the game as an opening act and meet with the stars themselves. And, what the hell, System of a Down will also have tracks for two bucks a pop, "B.Y.O.B" and "Toxicity".

I dunno if the Rock Band tour has the market cornered on people who want to be seen playing plastic instruments by the real McCoy, especially guys who have banged more women than you've known in your entire life. Still, I'm pretty excited for the SOAD songs, Toxicity in particular. I'd be more excited about the Sixx:A.M. song if I were into being serenaded with inspirational messages by a guy who once lapped up his own urine in front of Ozzy Osbourne, so there you go.
