Looks like Apple's been passing around a new working version of the iPhone 2.0 beta firmware -- not too many changes since the last release we saw, though. So far, from what we can tell the build is now officially 2.0 (before it was registered as 1.2), the Cisco VPN settings got some tweaks, and the root-level mail / ActiveSync settings have been reshuffled a bit. We'll let you know if anything else pops up.

Dark Alex has released a new version of Despertar del Cementerio, firstly heres whats new:

    Changes in version 5
    -----------------------

    - Now installs 3.90 M33-3 instead of 3.80 M33-5
    - Integration with timemachine in case it is installed.
    ---

    Installation:

    - Beginning at this version, DC uses same iplloader than timemachine which usually doesn't require to mspformat the memory stick.
However, in some memory stick it may still be necessary.
Just run the program and if you find an error, run mspformat and try again.

    - Copy DC5 to PSP/GAME/

    - Download 1.50, 3.40 and 3.90 update eboots and copy them to ms root with
    150.PBP, 340.PBP and 390.PBP names.

    - If you have a PTF custom theme set, quit it before running the program.

    - Use the app under a cfw with 2.x or 3.x kernel (be sure that kernel is
selected on recovery to the correct one (2.x or 3.x))

    - IF timemachine is installed in this memory stick, the program will ask you which button(s) you want to boot DC5, otherwise no buttons will be necessary.

    - Now you can delete 340 and 150 PBP's, as they won't be used more; but 390.PBP
will be used for unbricker, so don't delete it.

    - Now you have an universal pandora ms ready to go, and you just need a proper
battery. If you have 1.50 kernel access, use c+d tool. Otherwise, use corly149 tool.

Battery and ms will work on all psp and slims to this date.

    Unbricking:

    - Press X to install 3.90M33.

    - Press O to install original 3.90

    - Press [] to dump nand to nand-dump.bin. When done, psp will auto shutdown.

    - Press L+R+HOME+start to restore nand from nand-dump.bin

This proccess is very dangerous, and you should *just* use it if it's your
last chance to get it working.

This is a physical restore process (not a logical one), and will try to make
a 100% exact clon of the dump.

If you are working with a dump that isn't yours, you will get either a brick
or a corrupt idstorage, depending on the firmware.

If while you are restoring your psp have got any damaged block more than
when you dumped it, you might also get a brick, depending on what block is it.

Works for both PSP and PSP Slim.

    ----

Note: If you are gonna use the memory stick to restore a psp other than the one that created it,
check if the file /TM/DC5/registry/act.dat exists in the ms. If it exists, remove it, otherwise the restored psp may not be able
to buy psn games until the user doesn't delete from flash2 the act.dat of the other psp. (act.dat files are unique for each psp).

Note that act.dat will be restored to the moment of the MS creation.
If you have bought other PSN game later, the act.dat file may have changed and if you restore the old one, you may loose the latest bought game.
Backup flash2:/act.dat each time after you buy something from the PSN!

After the HD DVD format was declared dead, Microsoft's Steve Ballmer hinted that they might be including Blu-ray support in the Xbox 360.

Industry pundits starting wondering whether they would produce a Blu-ray add-on for the gaming machine or if they would produce a new Blu-ray complaint Xbox 360 system altogether. As it turns out, neither will be the case.

Xbox 360 group product manager Aaron Greenberg is now saying that Blu-ray is not coming to the Xbox 360 at all, but consumers can still access high-definition content through Microsoft's Xbox Live online service. He reminds us that this is the only game console to do so. As you may know, Microsoft has stopped producing the HD DVD add-on for their game system.

The lesson to be learned here? Maybe it's not so smart to believe everything that the chair-throwing Ballmer has to say. ...

Black Bean's fast paced racing game SBK-08 Superbike World Championship, developed by Milestone, is the officially licensed WSBK, and will storm the next-gen consoles with brand new features and enhancements.

SBK-08 Superbike World Championship, Milestone’s fast paced videogame, the officially licensed WSBK, lands on the next-gen console with brand new features and enhancements. Thanks to the X360 and PS3 hardware performances, gameplay experience will be enriched in order to let players experience the Worlds Super Bike universe in a compelling and immersive game.

As well as featuring the official teams, riders and tracks of the current WSBK Championship, SBK08 has six difficulty settings, that will appeal to WSBK fans and gamers alike. A fast paced, action packed arcade mode for gamers that want to jump in and challenge WSBK greats like Troy Bayliss and Max Biaggi, through to a full simulation mode for those that like to be challenged by mastering a superbike round some of the worlds most famous circuits including Donington, Valencia, Miller, Misano, Assen, Magny Cours and many more...

Realism is still SBK-08’s distinguishing trademark, where realism is about replicating the real Superbike experience. It grants you all the sense of speed, danger and glamour of the Superbike races. The player has the possibility to choose from the 2008 official riders, teams and tracks, but also to improve the performances of his bike, managing and tuning a lot of aspects like top speed, gear ratios, suspension stiffness, and set of tires for single race.

SBK-08 features a deep simulation mode that aims to capture the attention of “bike enthusiasts” who perfectly know every aspect of tweaking a bike. At the same time the revised full arcade mode gives the player the opportunity to understand the complexities of bike riding by introducing complexity in layers. The arcade mode of SBK-08 will fit their needs giving them a 100% enjoyable and fulfilling experience, void of any frustration.

SBK-08 Superbike World Championship will be available from May 2008 for X360, PS3, PS2, PSP and PC.

    Bigger is always better

Retailers have told CVG that they expect the 80GB PS3 - currently out in the US - to hit UK stores by the end of the summer. Both Costco and HMV staff told CVG they expect this new 80GB PS3 to be hitting store shelves within the coming months.

Even the PS3 customer service in the UK gave a similar answer. They even dropped Sony a call only to get the official line of: "There's no official word on an 80GB PS3 coming to the UK". Yet this technically isn’t a denial made by Sony by no means.

A bigger HDD SKU coming this summer wouldn’t be a surprise since more games require bigger space and the new features such as Play TV launching later this year. Until the UK sees the new PS3 hitting store shelves and sites, this will remain a rumor. ...

That's crazy talk! While all of your friends could be enjoying Contra 4 on the DS or SOCOM on the PSP, you can show off this solar-powered unit that can handle all sorts of NES classics.

Sure, it treads a little carefully on the legal front, but the MediaStreet eMotion PMP comes preinstalled with both NES and Sega Genesis emulators.

What this means is that you have full access to such classics as Ecco the Dolphin, Dr. Mario, and yes, even Excitebike. In addition to the emulators, this PMP also gets equipped with a 3-inch color display, 2GB of internal memory, video support, audio playback, photo viewer, SD memory expansion, and an integrated speaker. It's also got a Game Gear-esque form factor.

But the real kicker, in case you haven't noticed, is that this thing is solar powered, meaning that you will never need to find a power outlet ever again. Price has been set at $169.

The internet was buzzing the other day with news that Sony had a graphic of Sony 3000 on the website. Its no surprise that Sony are working on this, the worldwide success of the PSP Slim which is now available in a mass of colours and the beating of Nintendo in Japan points to the fact that Sony are now on the ball with the PSP Slim, the addition of the Camera and the GPS Addon and Skype add more to what is a very capable console. Sony have really now managed to do what the Gizmondo failed so badly at, infact for me the best part about the Gizmondo was the rather brilliant satnav program. If Sony can rival that and even be as good as tom toms etc then the PSP can move into markets that can extend the reach of the PSP even further.

Saying that what can Sony do in a new revision of the console, for me a touchscreen and Keyboard would be a welcome addon, soon the PSP will be able to have 16gb of additional space with new memcards from Sony. One addition i would also like to see is a virtual console for the PSP with not just PS1 Games but Genesis, MegaCD, Colecovision etc (obviously nintendo games wont be doable)

OK ive had my say, what would you like to see in a new revision of the PSP ? ...

    News/release from braveknight:

DIR-to-XML Tool enables PSP users to make their MP3 collections into an RSS/XML feed so they can stream their whole collections from their PC to their console.

    WHY ANOTHER README?
    -------------------

Due to some requests for a better readme, I have prepared a step-by-step and simpler guide on how to make DIR-to-XML Tool work.

    INSTALLATION and CONFIGURATION
    ------------------------------

    1. Download DIR-to-XML Tool from http://bravekn1ght.blinkedph.com/

    2. Download HFS from http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/

    3. Extract DIR-to-XML_Tool_102.rar to a directory of your choice

    4. Proceed to the directory where you saved HFS and double-click hfs.exe

    5. When prompted to install "HFS shell context menu" click "yes". Leave hfs running

    6. Create a directory of your choice where you want the XML files to be located. (e.g. C:\RSS)

    7. Under STEP 1, choose your MP3 directory you want to index as XML (e.g. C:\MP3)

    8. Under STEP 2, choose the directory that you created for the XML files

    9. Click on the ACTIONS menu and click on "GENERATE" or simply press CTRL+G to generate the XML files

    10. Browse to the XML directory, right-click the folder icon and choose "Add to HFS"

    11. Do the same with your MP3 directory.

    12. On your PSP, point your web browser to the URL displayed on the STEP 3 section of DIR-to-XML (unless you changed it) and add the folder name of your XML. (e.g. http://192.168.0.1/RSS)

    13. Select the album/directory of your choice and choose "YES" when prompted to add to the RSS Links.

    14. Exit the web browser and proceed to the RSS menu. Choose the album/directory and enjoy your music!

    News/release from Edepot:

In Agenaworld 1.6, the major fixes are double buffered FULL 720x480 24bit color output to the TV (when run on your slim). Note that this release requires that your set up the game folder to be running the firmware 3.x homebrew code (as opposed to firmware 1.5). It should run fine on both the fat and slim versions of the PSP.

Another update is the ability to output proportional fonts! What this means is that character sizes are not fixed width (like in Agenaworld 1.5). If you press the left trigger or right trigger button, you should get a screenful of text that shows off how nice it looks in proportional font. You will notice this for words that contain wide and narrow characters (characters "i" and "w" are at the extreme points of narrow and wide characters).

Also, this version fixes the problem people may have reaching earth if you are running on Slim output to the TV (the spacegate cube was off screen).
This version moves many gates on the maps. The algorithm for calculating the location of the gates so they are fixed at the same place whatever the screen size will be fixed in the next version, but basically, in this version you should be able to reach every place in every galaxy. Also the starting point is now at Earth, this way you can see familiar planets before venturing out into the different galaxies.

I tidied up the code, and the game resembles more and more like a game engine rather than a game. Soon, it will be able to load in a file with all the map and gate info. Gates are like teleporters to different places on the same map or to different maps when you press the Triangle button when touching them. You enter one gate and exit another gate (looks like cubes on the map). In the future it should be easy for people to place gates on their own custom maps.
