Seems like the oldies are still the goodies in terms of making you part with your cold, hard-earned cash.

Plenty of more retro action to come this year, we hope. Like Sabre Wulf! Tell us what you want to see below. ...

Sony says more MotorStorm tracks will populate the PlayStation Store this month, and we're convinced.

The first new course is Eagle's Nest, which takes place on a narrow and treacherous winding circuit high up some place or another, where easing your opponents over the edge is a primary tactic.

The other is a less fiddly affair called Diamondback Speedway, a natural desert bowl with banked corners, a sinkhole, and scary tunnel.

Like other packs it will lighten your wallet by GBP 3.49, which is about half as much as a ticket to the cinema in Brighton and twice as much as something else. ...

From 9am tomorrow, a demo for The Club will be available to download across Europe and Australia on the Xbox Live.

Developed by Bizarre Creations, The Club mixes score based challenges with core based challenges with bloody violence.

In the demo, you'll play Renwick, a detective stuck in a disused, crumbling penitentiary. Renwick is forced to fight in a shadowy underground blood-sport run by a secret group of sick millionaires.

We're not exactly clear on how you specifically fight them, apart from the game itself is a quirky third person shooter that our friends on OXM called, "Space Invaders for the Quentin Tarantino generation".

Our present opinion of Quentin Tarantino and his recent films aside, The Club sounds bonkers enough to be worth checking out. ...

Microsoft has skirted speculation that Rare is working on a Live Arcade game called The Fast & The Furriest by making no sounds shaped like comments.

Presentation details for the title were supposedly leaked to Xbox 360 Fanboy, who outlined Furriest as a collection of sporty mini-games controlled by Live Vision Camera motion sensing - or a controller if you feel less ambitious.

Each of you will get to choose from familiar characters such as Banjo or Conker, then take a picture of your face and put it on their body. Good god. Your mugshot will also be splashed across scoreboards and reflect off of things like ice or a bald person's head.

Events like 100 meter dash, bungee running and hurdling will be in the initial package, with Rare apparently readying downloadable additions for the future.

The developer is also said to have toyed with the idea of including a wand-like gesture controller, but gave up and went back to sandcastles because it was too difficult.

Rumour and speculation for now, then, but far from impossible. ...

Microsoft and BT have announced that Xbox 360 owners will be able to access IPTV service BT Vision this summer.

The service will offer "hundreds of movies and thousands of hours" of sporting events, TV programming, music videos and other digital services for users with a BT Broadband connection.

"We are pleased to partner with Microsoft to deliver a truly compelling connected entertainment experience to our customers," said Dan Marks, CEO of BT Vision.

"For the first time consumers in the UK will be able to experience the advantages of an advanced TV service together with the benefits of next-generation gaming.

"Our aim is to provide BT Vision on multiple platforms — giving customers greater convenience, control and flexibility over what they watch, when they watch and how they watch TV. It also means that we are able to potentially expand our BT Vision customer base by tapping into the popularity of Xbox 360," he added.

BT Vision customers will be able to access the service via Xbox 360 or set-top box. Xbox Live features will be integrated into the service, allowing users to send and receive messages while playing games or watching TV content.

"This is an exciting moment in home entertainment," said Enrique Rodriguez, corporate vice president of the Connected Television Division at Microsoft.

"Last year at CES, we announced Xbox 360 on Microsoft Mediaroom as a powerful platform capable of enabling new entertainment experiences for consumers, and we are pleased to team with BT to bring this service to market.

"Together we are enabling BT Vision customers to be the first in the world to enjoy this next-generation TV and gaming entertainment experience," added Rodriguez.

BT works with all three console manufacturers in the UK on a number of gaming related partnerships.

Nintendo and BT launched Wi-Fi Connection hotspots for the DS in more than 600 retail stores across the country in 2006, and last year it revealed a partnership with Sony for the PSPs Go! Messenger service. ...

Here is the first glimpse of the upcoming Skype software integrated into PSP's XMB firmware, and the accompanying PSP microphone peripheral.

Skype is a voice-over-IP (internet) program that will allow PSP users to make voice calls to other PSP owners via the web.

As reported earlier, Skype will rather shockingly only be available for PSP Slim units, not the old-school fat ones. Soz, early adopters.

The microphone peripheral necessary for voice chat will go on sale in Japan on January 24 for 2,500 Yen (£) for one, or 4000 Yen (£) for a two pack, according to Famitsu.

Neither the microphone nor Skype service has been dated for UK. Sony has also revealed a 16GB Memory Stick Duo for PSP too, which will be out in March and cost a fortune.

The Consumer Electronics Show has been big for the PSP. Sony officially revealed plans for Skype on the PSP. Now, they've shown off GPS navigation for use with the PSP. The peripheral has been readily available in Japan for quite some time now, but this is the first official sign that the US will also receive the device.

The Sony CES website reveals that the peripheral will work with navigation software, provided on UMD. Well it's finaly 2008. Lets hope this year turns out fantastic.

Well my gf finaly returned on friday. Along with her return I got some new gifts/toys. One of the things I got was a JXD 301 mp4 player. My feeling about it are really mixed at the current time (i'll explain more later). My second new toy is a iQue Player. The N64 geek in me is foaming at the mouth to play this thing but sadly I can't at the moment. The included AC adapter is 220v input ONLY. As well the Output is 5v (I have an AC adapter that could fit but it's 9v output). I was looking online at thesourcecc (formerly radioshack canada) but adapters are a little steep. They do have 1 that might fit the bill (3v-7v, supports 5v, and outputs at 2200 mA which I need) but it's $50. So I think I will wait a few days/week to see if I can find something better.

Christmas break was not as productive as I had hoped. I got tons of DD hacking done but still stuck at a massive brick wall. I hope once I get that resolved then the flood gates will open and I will have tons of new material to work with (like sample read/write commands). I also spent some time over the holidays working on a small psp puzzle game for kicks but I never got to finishing it.

Work side, 2008 will hopefuly be my big year when I FINALY get a comercial PSP game out (due novemberish). So I look forward to discussing this further when it's near launch (as well as give a copy away). The first game I was working on was due in 07 but it got cancelled early on (technicaly I was on engine development and not game but meh).

Well thats it for now. I plan to post progress of DD stuff as it happens as well as my adventures into the JXD 301. Hopefuly once I get an adapter I will also get some shots/video up of my iQue. ...

I just finished watching the keynote, a huge announment for a lot of Canadians is that the Zune will be released in Spring of 2008. I beleive it was Robbie Bach who broke the news, he also claimed it will be launched in other territorys as well, so Im assuming 08 is also the year it will come to Europe.

I can't really source a live video stream, oh and Bill had Slash play "Guitar Hero" for him! ...

Thrift stores are a constant source of amazement to me. How can so many horrible things all end up in one place? Yet, if you do some digging you can find some really cool stuff. Some if it is cool and you buy it and some of it is so hideous it's cool. You laugh at it and then put it back on the shelf. This Dreamcast is one of those finds. Had I not already owned one I probably would have picked it up seeing as it had four controllers , two light guns and memory cards. Instead I just snapped a picture so I could share the horror with all of you. Behold the ugliest Dreamcast ever decorated. I challenge you to find an uglier one! In fact, if you can find another one, send a picture in. Whoever submits the most hideous one will get a game from my personal collection. And no, you don't get to pick it. ...
