UK UMD's on a JAP PSP

Has anyone tried running a UK UMD film in a JAP PSP?

Hi newbie here got a psp from canada v1.50 but just hired yes (hired) a uk game from my video store and it comes up need to upgrade to v1.52 hence losing the emu world..Also not sure if it will stop my usa games from loading any help on subject will be cool...

Um, games are region free so I don't see any problems
