problem using FDS images in nesterdc 7.1

i remember once i burnt a disk where it worked correctly, but i cant remember how i had the rom folders set up on the disk. since then i have burnt several disks and cant get the FDS to work at all. the funny thing is that the documentation for nesterdc 7.1 says to put disksys.rom in the 'games' directory. yet, nesterdc looks for the games, and in other areas of the documentation tells you to put the roms in the 'nes' directory .

im pretty sure ive tried putting disksys.rom in the 'nes' folder, and in the 'games' folder, with about every combination of putting the roms (and disk images) here or there too. anyone know EXACTLY how this should go?

You just need to have the disksys.rom in the same folder as your FDS games. Standard in NesterDC 7.1 it's the folder GAMES. But what exactly goes wrong when loading an FDS game? Does it give you an error for example?
