Interesting. I wonder if this could be easily bypassed, or not? According to Wiibrew, some have reported that the Homebrew Channel still works...

I know it GETS RID OF an altered savegame, but does it prevent you from putting it back on AFTER you update?
I have read that it does. From Bushing's blog...

- I have read that when the firmware is updated with the save file on, you will get a 'Corrupted Files' error message. This might be the 'VerifySavedataZD'.Quote:
Update 2: Okay, now this is just silly. Two functions have been added to the system menu. Guess what they do:
* ipl::utility::ESMisc::DeleteSavedata( (unsigned long long, EGG::Heap *))
* ipl::utility::ESMisc::VerifySavedataZD( (unsigned long long, EGG::Heap *))
* WADCheckSavedataZD
We Are Not Impressed.
- If that check fails, 'VerifySavedataZD' is called, and deletes the data.
- If you try to copy the save file over from an SD card, 'WADCheckSavedataZD' checks to see if it is legitimate.
I got this information from GBATemp, so it may or may not be accurate.
^ that is just a poor effort on your behalf Nintendo and you wonder why you get hacked?
