Question about 2D sprites and game saves...

1) Is there anyway I can make the sprites on 2D fighting games less blocky? The backgrounds for games like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Capcom vs. SNK 2 are perfect, but the actual character sprite look pretty awful to look at. How can I can change this or is that the norm when playing a PC?

I haven't tried any 3D games yet, but I assume this will not even be an issue with the likes of Sonic Adventure, Power Stone etc.


2) How do I save game information or use the VMU with NullDC?
