Japanesse Hardware Sales: June 9th -15th, 2008

A big change in ranking have occurred for console sales in Japan as follows:


Playstation 3: 75,311
Playstation Portable: 64,675
Nintendo Wii: 45,564
Nintendo DS Lite : 39,201
Playstation 2: 7,297
Xbox 360 : 2,163


For the first time ever, the Playstation 3 tops the list, increased highly by roughly 64,500 units, most probably fuelled by the release of Meta Gear Solid 4. PSP is second, up 2,600. 3rd place is the Wii, up 900 or so. Next is the DS Lite, up 4,000. PS2 is 5th, up 1,000 and Xbox 360 is last in line as usual, down 117.

bloody hell Nintendo must be worrying now both the DS and Wii beaten by ps3 and psp, is the nintendo romance over on this generation ?

i haven't heard of a much anticipated game for the wii for a while now, anyone know of any?

Probably Sony is putting money to these people who published these numbers...

yep, this must be because of MGS4 guns of the patriots, a friend of mine said that he bought the ps3 a while ago just to play that game

Finally. Sony is getting some long awaited attension. Im a proud owner of both a PSP and PS3, i love them and i dont regret buying them. Sony has made the 2 best systems that i have seen in a long time. I was a bit skeptical when its came to the Sony consoles, but after i seen them in action, it was hard to resist.

Im suprised people are just now getting it. Even though it might be for just one specific game, the console will grow on them and they will see how better the PS3 is compared to the 360 and the Wii.

There aren't any, but Nintendo promises they'll announce more at E3.

Anyway as it turns out MGS4 is a big system seller, so all those who believed MGS4 wouldn't sell PS3 systems are flat out wrong.

well its about time they did reach number 1:p
