I'm not sure, but I've taken apart many controllers with shoulder buttons and they just fall out.
I looked at some pictures from Lik-Sang but there not high enough resolution.
By the way, did you notice if a pin broke on the shoulder button?
the only thing that nbroke was part of the psp casing
ouch, that sux, im sure you could probably send it in to sony to get it fixed, thats what i did when i dropped it and the screen broke, and you can just downgrade it again....or is it your imported 1.0?
Oh, I see, If you do take it apart. I wouldn't do farther than taking the face plate off.
But it look like it's behind the screen. I'll look around a bit to see if there is any better pictures.
That really sucks, you might be screwed. :(
My PSP dropped twice, but nothing happened. Thank God.
I just read...If you take the face plate off, you will damage the foam around the screen.
These links might help you...

You will have to be more gentle in the future if you don't want things to break off in your hand :DQuote:

Can't remember about the triggers but you will not damage the foam behind the screen. It doesn't hurt to look, it's easy to take off.
as the subject saysQuote:

To answer your question yes it will slide back in.... but after reading further i see u stated that a piece of the casing broke off. Well if you notice on the trigger button theres 2 nubs that hold in in place and keeps it from falling out if your case broke it might not stay in. Other than that its easy to take it apart the screws i always remove are the ones outside in the deep holes. The 2 silver and 2 black ones under the battery ( one silver and one black are under the warranty void if removed sticker), and the one on the bottom near the serial number.
