upgraded using gta update, not a good idea

Yea, i was to lazy to search my computer for the 2.00 update that i downloaded before and decided to just use the one on the UMD, i hope i'm doing the whole tiff photo stuff wrong, but i don't it and i can't get the eboot launcher to start. the only other program i can think of that owrks on the 2.00 is the downgrader, and i don't want to brick my psp if that does work and the 2.00 firmware is different. I've used the the downgrader before and i know it took about 5 trys to get the psp to say it was 1.00, but does the eboot launcher take that many times too?

Ok, i downgraded using the latest version of the MPH downgrader, works perfectly...

im glad to hear its safe ill still use my demo disc for the upgrade...

i used the 1.5v update from the coded arms, does anyone know whether thats jap or american, i know there is no us 1.5 update that can be downloaded from the interenet since us psp came with 1.5, but since i have the us version of coded arms is it the american version?

The only 1.50 update available is the Japanese one. It makes no difference though. To test the updgrade>downgrade procedure(did it twice with no issues) I used the 1.50 update(having a 1.50 prior to updating to 2.00).

Nothing different about it that I noticed. However, I'd like to know what the European firmwares do that might be different from the others.

You must have not done something correct installing the loader. I just picked up GTA:LCS tonight and upgraded my PSP from 1.5 to 2.0 using the included firmware update. I installed the loader and it worked like a charm for NesterJ.

Make sure you are placing all the files EXACTLY where they need to go:

Extract all the files into the root folder (e.g. "F:\") of your memory
stick. You need these files to be in the right place:

The first time I tried it, it kept locking up and then turning off my system. Then I realized I did not have "L.BIN" and "L_ALT.BIN" in the root directory. So, I can tell you first hand that I installed the 2.0 off the GTA disc, and can still play homebrews.
