2.60 firmware--what do I do?

I'm new to all of this, so go easy XD
I'm getting into all of the homebrew and whatnot, but I'm having trouble figuring out what firmware version, and, better yet, how to SWITCH to the firmware that I need.

you have firmware 2.60? sorry dude. you'll be waiting a while. you can't switch to any other firmware or play ANY homebrew with 2.60

I have $100 bucks riding on the probability that the public will see a downgrader by Friday.

first post in this forum for me heh. well it's saturday already and no signs of a 2.60 downgrader or hacks to enable homebrewing / loaders. hopefully it's just the fact that it's still early here in Australia. *keeps praying for good news*
