Rogue DC Gets Slashdotted
Kamjin the coder behind quite a few great Dreamcast Projects so far can add the merit of a slashdot post to his credits so far, heres the newspost from Slashdot [br][br]MilenCent writes "Oh rapturous jubilation! Some saintly homebrew Dreamcast programmer has ported Rogue, that wonderful, magnificent, beautifully malevolent progenitor of PC RPGs with randomly generated game content, to Sega's undead console. The history of Rogue is long and storied, and the genre of Roguelikes (which includes a certain game you may have heard of) has found a new platform to settle on."[br][br]Nice to see the Dreamcast scene getting some more much needed promotion :)[br][br]Hats off to Kamjin for all his work :)

Re: Rogue DC Gets Slashdotted
COOL!! This is good news.. exposure is good, hopefully it'll
get a few people to pull their dreamcasts out of the closet..
Once they get lured by the link.. they'll be exposed to some
of the goings on by the comunity!!!
Re: Rogue DC Gets Slashdotted
Hell when I heard about the DC community I bought a DC! Thgis should def bring the community some much deserved support!
Re: Rogue DC Gets Slashdotted
The Dreamcast scene is like no other
1) you dont need to modify your console.
2) the software is all legal
3) the amount of software, games emus apps etc etc is staggering
its simply the best :)

Not all of it. Just the software that most people are using now. There was a time when the Katana kit was being used quite extensively to develop homebrew.
Re: Rogue DC Gets Slashdotted
Like aka the illegal emulator Sega Gen which people stole the source from the smash pack and made there own emulator for other games to work and that was a big issue back in the day it still is
Re: Rogue DC Gets Slashdotted
The sega generator, wasn't that good either.. there
was still a noticable lag in Sonic.. at least I bought
it cheap..
Overall I still think it's one of the best consoles that
has appeared in years.
If you're a parent on a budget.. you could easily buy one, with 40 games for less than the price of 1 ps2

There was never that much made with katana. The homebrew scene really exploded with kos.
