R4 - ultra

Just got a new R4 - ultra, put on kernal 1.53, the only issue I have is when I finish any game, I cannot get back to the main R4 menu screen(the one with three icons), tried pressing start did not work, even tried other bottons was a no go. The only way I can get to the main R4 screen is by shutting off the DS, and choosing a different thing to do. Can someone tell me what to do, I know some other people are having a similar problem, any assistance is appreciated.

I'm no expert, as there are so many R4 cards (i thought there were only 3 main versions, and the R4 Ultra isn't one of them) - but I think turning off and on your DS again to change game is normal!
