Problems with sound when playing ePSXe

Hello! I downloaded the 1.7 version of ePSXe and have been eager to play it. I installed and configured everything using the following guide:

I seem to be having a little trouble, though. After starting my game up, I run into problems where the sound plays normally, slows down, then picks back up playing superfast to catch up. Depending on how I fiddle with things, my game sometimes runs incredibly fast. I've played with the settings all I know how to, but nothing seems to work. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
