Project 64 port to PS2?

I have seen a N64 emulator for Xbox, and I was wondering if Project 64 or something like that could be ported to the PS2 (even if it only plays Super Smash Bros, it's the only game I really want emulated).

The source code of Project 64 has been released a while ago, maybe its impossible or something like that?

Well, I believe it could be ported. However, you'll need to find someone with a lot of time to work on getting Mario 64 up to 45 FPS without sound. :P

You could also try to port it yourself. ;)

Daedalus on PSP runs Mario, that could be ported easier since the hardware is very similar
