Questions regarding chickHEN.

I have psp which is a 2006slim version. It came with official firmware v4.01. However, there was once i bricked it and i sent it to sony for repair and it came back a 5.01 or 5.03 i forgot. I know my psp is either a ta088v2 or v3 model.

Im pretty interested in chickhen. 1stly, wht does it do?
2ndly, is there any chance it might brick my psp?

Actually, i am only interested in running dled games. I dont care much for psptube and the rest. Can chickhen aloow me to do that?
