Visual Effects Society Announces Video Game Nominees [Honors]

http://cache.gawker.com/assets/image...wardsrev_0.jpgUncharted 2, Fight Night Round 4 and Star Wars: The Old Republic are among eight nominees for awards recognizing outstanding achievements in video games and video game trailers, to be given by the Visual Effects Society in late February.
The nominations, announced Saturday, are for "Outstanding Real-Time Visuals in a Video Game" and "Outstanding Visual Effects in a Video Game Trailer." The VES' eighth annual awards also recognize achievements in other visual media, from motion pictures to television.
For real-time visuals in a game, the nominees are Infinity Ward, for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2; EA Canada, for Fight Night Round 4; Naughty Dog, for Uncharted 2, and Slightly Mad Studios, for Need for Speed Shift.
For trailers, the nominees are FreeStyle Games, for DJ Hero, Bungie, for Halo 3: ODST, BioWare, for Mass Effect 2; and BioWare Austin, for Star Wars: The Old Republic.
The award winners will be announced Feb. 28 in Los Angeles.
