The Tampa Tribune had a big ol' time informing us Ekes, 30, was playing hisself some Grand Theft Auto III when Polk County (Fla.) deputies bagged him for perpetrating the titular act IRL. Ekes also was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Burglary of a Conveyance but apparently those titles have yet to be released in North America.
Best part, authorities took time to ask Ekes his opinion of the game. "It's a blast," he said. In response, Sheriff Grady Judd - no man with that name can work in law enforcement north of the Mason-Dixon - opined that "Crime is not a game. Real-life crime has real-life consequences," he said, "and I hope he goes to prison for a good long while, where they don't have 'Grand Theft Auto' video games."
