B&W logo, no game boot and always time/date

I haven't played on my DC for 2 months because i had to move.
I was working perfectly before and today i hook up my DC and i get all kinds of problems with it :s

First it boots up with a black and white dreamcast intro...then i get the time/date settings which are in color...then i get the system menu still in color but i won't boot my games.
Retail or backup...doesn't matter...same problem.
It will load the music sometimes in the music menu...so i guess the lens is ok.

Everytime the dreamcast boots i get the same steps.
black and white...time date...no boot.
I've left the DC on for an hour before booting again because i've read that the battery could be dead and needed to recharge.
But it doesnt seem to help :(

Should i start looking for a new DC or can any of you guys help me out?


P.S: I did the region mod...the boot is the japanese red swirl.
But it always used to work untill now...but still doesnt explain my games not booting,

That's because you kept the wire connected for the region mod. It can't be fixed ; congrats, your DC is dead.

i was supposed to disconnect it afterwards? O_O

Ok, time to look for a new DC i guess :(
