Software reset doesn't work

If I patch a rom file using the software reset method, shouldn't I be back to M3's main menu just by pressing L, R, A, B and X at the same time? But nothing's happening!
Any ideas?

Here are the options I'm using:

Software reset
4x DMA
Fastboot
Trim rom

I've tried with Castlevania and Fifa World Cup 2006 so far, and the results were the same.

L, R, A, B, X, Y.

wrong. when you convert it, select the soft reset option, but you should amke sure you have the latest game manager from www.m3adapter.com. good luck!
