Tony Hawk: Shred officially confirmed

Activision has confirmed that the next game in the Tony Hawk series will be Tony Hawk: Shred.

It was the loose-lipped skateboarder himself who initially gave away the title, getting a little over-excited on Twitter before the tweet in question mysteriously vanished.

That was as good a confirmation as any but now Activision has made it official - Tony Hawk: Shred will be the next Hawk outing following the disappointing Tony Hawk: Ride.

Activision promises more details in the coming months, so look to E3 for the first info. Interesting side-note that will probably amount to nothing but we're telling you anyway: no mention yet of Shred being a direct sequel to Ride or requiring the skateboard peripheral.
