Hi all,
I have been reading alot about homebre games, and just wanted to know what would be the best way of downgrading my PSP.
Infomation about my PSP from the box.
White PSP Value Pack
PSP - 1003 KCW
220 - 240v
WS259 I
The PSP was preinstalled with firmware 2.60,
and the motherboard model is IC6001.
Would it be advisable for me to downgrade and what is the best and bug free way,which would not harm th PSP.
If the risk is too great i would consider the downgrade, as the PSP is my lil bro's
big risk! u cant downgrade a factory 2.60 and its most likely a ta-081
just keep 2.60 and get gta:lcs off of ebay (so its the unpatched version)
dont try to downgrade or youll get a brick.
Whats the difference between downgrading and using the eloader???
nick doesnt know what he is talking about u can downgrade a factory 2.6 as long as when u open the umd drive there is no writing on the right side and with a downgrade u get 1.5 which can run homebrew from the xmb or main menu and u can have full kernal acess and run isos (not legal in the US) it is an all around better firmware and e loader u have to run homebrew through gta and cant run as much homebrew and it takes a while to load
mine is factory 2.6 with no writing by the UMD drive *EDIT: it does have the writing*, but i still heard any factory 2.6 has a ta-82 motherboard.....has anyone here had any experience? i have a ceramic white psp PAL format.
downgrading allows you to run homebrew without having to load up GTA every time u want to play a game...the eloader loads up when GTA goes to load your saved game allowing you to pick a homebrew to run.
The PSP is a 2.6, and the motherboard is IC6001. You should go ahead and try darkalex's downgrader - You shouldn't have any problems. That's as safe as it gets.
If it's a IC6001 sure you can downgrade, and if you follow the instructions perfectly it will work 100%. Here is the downgrader download-Quote:
