Won't find Snes roms on my harddrive

I have a wii and have successfully loaded wii games on a partitioned hard drive and played them, I understand that I should be able to run snes games from a small partition on the hard drive, I have the roms installed on the hard drive and a channel installed on the wii, not matter what path I put in or change drive letter I can't get the snes emulator to find the hard drive. I must have it set up incorrectly, any help would be appreciated please....should I start again?
