DMC' trademark hints Devil May Cry sequel

Capcom is working on a new Devil May Cry game. That's the rumour sparked by the discovery of a new trademark from the Japanese firm for the phrase 'DMC'.

The trademark, filed on September 9, covers 'computer game software', 'downloadable computer games', and even wallpaper and ringtones, covering all the bases for what could be a new game in the series.

Given the abbreviation of its name could we see a series reboot from the next game? As Siliconera notes, Capcom top man and creator of Mega Man and Dead Rising, Keiji Inafune, has expressed an interest in putting a more western touch to the series to boost its sales outside Japan.

This came after Game Informer rumours that Enslaved developer Ninja Theory were being eyed to develop the next DMC game.

Capcom says it will announce four games at TGS this week. Let's hope 'DMC' is one of them.
