Halo: Reach to outsell Black Ops? 'No chance' - analysts

Games industry analysts have given Halo: Reach no chance of outselling Call of Duty: Black Ops.


While Microsoft has said in recent days that it thinks Bungie's Halo swansong can top Activision's upcoming Call of Duty game at retail, EEDAR's Jesse Divnich and Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter aren't buying it.

"Both titles will be mammoths, but claiming that Halo: Reach will outsell Call of Duty is aggressively optimistic. Simply put, it's not happening," Divnich told Joystiq.

Pachter said Xbox 360 sales of the two games could be close, but with Black Ops being a multiplatform game he thinks Reach has "no chance" of topping Treyarch's shooter in the overall sales battle.

Even if they're right, we doubt Microsoft will be crying itself to sleep after Reach's opening week performance, which has seen the game hailed as "the best-selling Xbox exclusive in history".
