no c and lua are also widley used languages.

No you cannot use vb... Here are ALL the languages you can use
1.) c++
2.) c
3.) lua
4.) python
5.) flash (only supported on flash enable psp, which I think is 2.70+ firmware)
6.) html if you want someone to point the web browser to a certain URL where they plays games on a portal...
Are you sure you can use python? wasnt the player for it not finished on the psp bronx>?
It works, just not really developed on anymore. You can also develop in ASM as well.
I would suggest using using c or c++
But you have to get a college education in C programming to learn how to code it efficiently.
c++ and lua are the most common you will see for the psp
