well i just bought a psp and somebody told me that upgrading is the best you can do. so i upgraded what i didn't know was that if i upgraded to 2.81 i cant play homebrews so can somebody please give me a 2.81 downgrader or something that wil totaly brick my psp so i can get back to the store and get a new one ?!?
Well the problem is that at the moment there is no kernal access on 2.81 so that means that no programs such as a downgrader or something that bricks can get to the on board nand flash memory (where the firmware is put when you update) so you cant brick it that way, the only other way to brick a 2.81 is to wait untill the next update comes out, start the update and while your halfway through the update pull the battery out and you will have a brick

doesnt the font hack flash for like a second? maybe if he turns it off at the right time he can partially brick.
font hack doesnt work on 2.81 because the tiff exploit is patched on 2.81
h e could just run a car over it:S lol no, eh... you could try and run an update tht is modified or s system reboot and, turn it off during tht, dont know if it will work but its worth a go, but what i did was put the battery in water for 20 mins and phoned up sonys warenty line and told them it was buggerd and they sent me a new one within a week, cause i stupidly upgraded to 2.80 before the exploit was found, and they sent me a 2.60:D i downgraded with gta and upgraded to 2.00 then downgraded again to have a clean firmware:D
couldnt you try to run the 2.71 downgrader i thought i remeber someone doing that on a 2.80 and it bricked. or also maybe try to run a custom firmware?

a brick is a psp rendered as useful as a brick because the flash memory is corrupted.
Bricking can be fixed with a mod chip however. :)
