does this absolutely need the disc? & does the disc have an english language option?
The only thing you'd need the disc for is for browsing the web with it, and setting up the IP address and such. If you have the US release of PSOv2, it can set up the IP address and all just fine. The Japanese release of PSOv2 is probably able to as well, but I've never looked.
