Does anyone know if the house of the dead is available on the ps2 as we have just bought a new ps2 and after playing house of the dead in an arcade we would love to be able to play it at home. any info on availabllity and where to purchase would be of great help. MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE.

House of the Dead, was only availbale for the Sega Saturn system, and is rather hard to come by.
House of the Dead 2 was only released on the dreamcast and is rather easy to come by (A dreamcast+game+1 lightgun used will cost about the same a 1 new ps2 game)
House of the Dead 3 runs on a Sega Chihiro system.. which is actually a modified xbox, so the assumption is that it will probably be an xbox only title, since the ps2 will not have enough hp to run it.
I hope this kinda answers your question.. while it's not on a ps2.. a used dreamcast, + the game is more than worth it.

Another wise alternitive is Time Criss's 3 for PS2. Its another great shooter is probably much more enjoyable than the orginal house of the dead.
Hmmm.. TC3 pretty good, still prefer the 1st one over it..
I was at a local eb.. $15 for a DC, $8 for HOD2, and $20 for a new pelican light gun w/ crimson ox total $43..
and a TimeCrisis3 used was $30 w/Guncon $45
