Pirate Bay defies courts in face of ISP block threat

Using magnets instead of torrents 'will make is harder for our common enemies to stop us'

The Pirate Bay has reacted to the threat of an ISP block in the UK by stating it will carry on offering its file-sharing service.
On Monday the UK High Court found The Pirate Bay guilty of breach of copyright, stating the site’s owner’s “sanction, approve and countenance the infringement of copyright committed by its users”.

It is scheduled to decide in June whether Internet service providers must block UK customers from the site.
Despite this however, taking to its Facebook page, the file-sharing giant said that as of February 29th, torrents would be offered in a different form to make them harder to track.
It said that it would now, as already previously planned, use ‘magnets’, which it stated were similar to torrents.
