The USB Adapter allow to convert a XBOX Controller port to a USB Port. This adapter doesnt require a SmartXX (or the CD) to work.

Why would you get it without a modchip?

Maybe some of the potential buyers already have a chip or a softmodded system?

Usefull for those that dont know how to do it I guess and/or those that dont want to cut up a pad lead to add a usb plug onto it (yes I know the Xbox plug is a form of usb I meant a pc type one)
