Help On Mario 64 Ds!!

I can't find Maio, Luigi, and Wario!!

I'm completing all the levels without them!!

Please can someone tell me where they are and how to get them!!!

i read somewhere that you have to finish the Goomboss level to get him...
is that true? when i spoke to toadstool i got the impression you can find him by just looking around...
