Firmware 2.6 TA-082 Issues

Long time reader, first time poster. In the past few days, I've taken MY TA-082 PSP from 2.71->1.5->3.03 OE-A and am happily playing PS1 titles on my PSP. My friend, after seeing this, really wants me to do the same to his PSP, but he has Firmware 2.6 (TA-082 board) and no access to the GTA game for that method. How would I go about getting 3.03OE-A on his machine? As easy as upgrading 2.6-2.71 then use my method? Or is there more to it? Please someone help me out, I don't want to brick my best friends system!

If all you need to do is 2.6-2.71 update, does anyone know where I can get a for certain clean update (USA version)? Thank you all, and I love the progress being made on the scene! Thanks to all developers!

yes, all you need to do is update to 2.71, then downgrade using the method you used.

its the usa version to let u kno ;)

So all I do is put that in the update folder and run it, correct?

yes, make an update folder if it didnt come with it, and put the 2.71 eboot in the folder, then put that folder in the game folder, then run it.
it should look like this:

x:/psp/game/update/eboot.pbp

and keep battery charged, also keep it plugged

I have the same problem. So after i switch to 1.5 from 2.6...how do i upgrade to 3.02 EB-A or B ? is it just the regular method? and if it is can someone point me in the direction of a guide? Thank you

Im the same guy as just a second ago..i have another question..wats the chances this method will Brick my psp will it? in other words..what do i avoid from doing so it doesnt happen?

You just update to 3.03OE-B like normal.

There is no extra risk involved.

Wanted to ask another question without making a new thread. I got his psp to 3.03 OE-C from 1.5, how would I go about upgrading my TA-082 3.03 OE-A to OE-C? I know this probably sounds like a stupid question, but I can't seem to get it to work >.<
