Can any other game besides hot shots golf 2 be used as the base.pbp?

You can but it's not guarenteed to work. Popstation was built for Hot Shots Eboot.

Dark_alex said that it probally can be done, but its not recommended since its only been tested and used with the hotshot golf 2 eboot.

is there a specific list of games that might work, or can it be any game that comes to mind?

Any game from the PS3 store will work, period, end of story :p

Also, I'm pretty sure any game custom-made with popstation works as well.

And of course that's not legal, you should get it from the PS3 store or find someone with a PS3 to download it for you at least...

Or if people want to be illegal at least don't post stuff THAT directly.
