Best way to transfer files ???? HELP

Hi guys i just bought a 200 GB 7200 rpm harddrive for my notebook And will like to know whats the best way to get the files i want from my desktop to the notebook. Since its a lot and dont want to spend for ever doing so. Any help i will greatly apreciated. :)

i dont think that there is a hdd cloner for notebooks, so you may have to ftp everything over.

either that or set up a samba aka smb shared server.. its pretty easy in windows.
