Nvidia puts record Q3 revenue down to Kepler GPUs and Tegra 3 tablets

Nvidia has reported record revenue of $1.20bn in Q3, up 15.3 per cent from the previous quarter.
"Kepler GPUs are winning across the special-purpose PC markets we serve, from gaming to design to supercomputing. And Tegra is powering some of the most innovative tablets, phones and cars in the market," said Jen-Hsun Huang, president and chief executive officer of Nvidia.
Nvidia’s Tegra 3 chips are included in a number of new tablets on the market, including Google’s Nexus 7 and the Windows RT version of Microsoft’s Surface.
The company also announced that it is initiating the payment of a quarterly cash dividend as well as extending its existing $2.7bn share-repurchase program throughout December 2014.
"We are pleased to start paying our shareholders a quarterly cash dividend,” continued Huang. “We have confidence in our businesses and our continued ability to grow. Given our strong financial position and ongoing ability to generate cash, we are well positioned to continue investing in our future."
